In his second full season he has in a sense had a sophomore slump. Even with good numbers he's been dinged a little draft wise. He could come back for a stellar season and lock up a solid top three NFL draft spot and leave with a masters degree. Makes a lot of since to me.

These 5 star and 4 star guys are not lining up at Clemson because they think they will have to watch DW4 at Clemson in his senior year.
We have Zerrick Cooper and Hunter Johnson (and probably Chase Brice) because it's been known for a long time that Watson was gone after this year.
As good as it might be for our 2017 prospects on the field, Watson coming back next year completely our QB line of succession.

1) Watson is still the #1 or #2 QB on the board right now
2) QB is a need for many of the cr@p teams picking early
3) A lot of QB talent at CU at the moment or coming in next year with the expectation that DW will be gone. Need to keep the funnel moving.

First of all it would need to make "sense". As much as I would love that, just dont see anyway it happens. He is done with college in december. He will still most likely be the first qb taken. He will still be a first rounder. You do not risk your body on improving draft stock if you are already in the first round.
In short... Pass whatever you are snoking.

One more season isn't going to provide teams that much more information than they already have on Watson. And if runs the risk of a 2nd major injury. Not going to happen.

Watson looks to sign for a gauranteed bonus of $15-20M. I love the guy. I love him at Clemson. But he needs to grab the big, lifetime check next spring. I wish him the best.
