Watching the basketball team sing the alma mater tonight

reminded me of a recent thing I've noticed (at football games and tonight's basketball game) is the students now yell "ROAR" in the alma mater in the line "that the Tigers ROAR may echo ... o'er the mountain heights."

Has that been going on for long? Do we like that or not?

On one hand, I sort of like the enthusiasm and starting new traditions but not the other hand, it's a bit shocking to the system when you've heard the alma mater one way for so long. What do you all think?

I wish Clemson had more unique cheers than the 1-2-3-4 chant over and over and over.

Can some soccer fans come up with some cheers for the fans?

But it really is our only good one. Other schools usually have more.

I remember when college basketball gameday came to Clemson back around 2010. Off camera during commercial, Digger Phelps asked the students in attendance to do their top 3 cheers and they would chose they best one for air. Of course everyone did a strong cadence count first, then an awkward pause and a half hearted orange/white and didn’t even attempt a third before Digger was like “yeah we’re good”

From where I sit in Section D in Death Valley (fairly close to the student section), that one seemed much less apparent this year than last year. Hopefully that vulgar addition is dying off.
