named Zack's? It is located "down in the hole" near the City of Clemson municipal building on Hwy. 123. I drive by it all the time and I am curious to know more about it. Seems like it went out of business years ago.

but I would assume it went out of business due to that being a horrible location. Pretty much all of the other bars, even Esso, are within reasonable walking distance of each other.

during my first couple of years at Clemson ('92 and '93) . . . some good live music, plentiful cheap beer, and lenient ID checking. Somehow can't remember the name back then, and I'm pretty sure it went in and out of business at least a couple of times while I was a student (fall '92 - spring '96).

Bullwinkles, eventually becoming Crazy Zacks. Had nickel draft on Wednesday nights when a dollar went a LONG way!! Ahh the memories!!

That place has had about 10 different names

in the last 20 years. I remember it best as Crazy Zack's in the late 80's/early 90's, though I also went there once or twice when it was The Underground.

It's in a horrible location, not within easy walking distance of either campus or any major off-campus apartment complexes. It's hard to see from the road and parking is a PITA. Thanks to that nobody's been able to establish a stable presence there.
