WAS AT ALL 3 GAMES

Lonnie Almeda gets far too much deference from the ACC umps. They are terrified of her. I haven’t seen an umpire coach a pitcher on how to throw a legal pitch since my daughters were in mid-level travel ball. I’ve certainly NEVER seen them do so in a D-1 game, let alone 3 times with the same pitcher in the same game. They give her players extra leeway with stoppages in play to chat on the mound for minutes before interceding- all weekend. Allowed her to stop play for 10 minutes to try and keep her injured player in the game while she received treatment in the clubhouse.

Not even mentioning the balls and strikes debacle last night.

I’d love to see us leave rhe ACC if for nothing else than the officiating in football and softball is deplorable. The league office seem to do nothing about it.

Would have been nice if we would have played better. I was surprised the moment seemed too big for our squad. A lot of poor play I had not seen all year. Credit to FSU for taking advantage and in all likelihood creating those opportunities but we've got to look at ourselves here. That was not good.

Seminoles are a very well coached team They make all the plays. You win when you play winning ball and they do that. Clemson is no slouch either but they do s few things that I don’t like. Some of the hitters , for some reason, run towards the pitcher when they swing! What’s with that! Lady Tigers will be s top ten team all year but FSU is much, much more solid

Hats off the great fan base for supporting this team.

FSU is better than Clemson.

Thank you for mentioning the running at the pitcher at bats! ### is that? It never works when players do that crap. Stand there, plant foot, proper swing for power and get a hit. Or bunt it, but it is like amateur hour trying to hit a ball like that!

Have you watched Alabama or Oklahoma play? They're called

Slap hitters and all the top teams have them. Alabama even grooms their infield to be especially hard so the balls bounce higher and give the runner more time to get to first. I would bet the 5 of the top 10 batting average players in the country are slap hitters.

Absolutely totally agree... and I know when that's your forte you go with it but I think we should have made the adjustment realizing fsu is so good at defending it. You've also got to be patient and adjust your timing to make sure you slap it more towards the lines... depending on a left or right pitcher. Imo, I think we'd have had more success trying to lay down a bunt and buy that extra second.

Agree .... but their pitcher, on Micklesh's last strike, located the ball on the outside of the plate (not sure it was even a strike) and there was no way aa she was running toward first that she was going to hit that ball. It appeared that FSU's coach had them better prepared for us than we were for them. Of course it could be that they just have no weaknesses and there was not a lot of strategy that could be used. In the first game throwing their freshman for the first several innings with 70 mph fast balls and then taking her out and throwing the change-up pitcher, I thought, was brilliant. Ultimately they just had much more pitching depth and their hitters much more consistent. I think we learned a lot from this series.

Sampson Simpson! I stick by my story!

I know, I’ve seen and I just don’t like it. It’s cool, I’m not going to petition the ACC and NCAA to get them to stop

Alabama, Yes. Oklahoma, No. I don't think Oklahoma has nay slap hitters on their team. They have a team full of HR's hitters and don't do the slap very much if at all. But some of the best hitters (Highest BA) in college softball are slap hitters. Not a lot of power but they've learned to make that ball take a big bounce and thus making it impossible for the fielders to throw them out. I have seen a few Slap hitters put it over the fense as well. Just not very liely to do that.

Little to no need for Umpires to call balls/strikes

I know may be a can of worms but the technology is there to make that argument go away. If a human can’t change their mind about what is a strike, they can’t coach them up and no difference between sides.

Doesn’t really solve the stoppage issues. I feel like injuries will end up getting more strict about what happens. They may end up relaxing the “what happens after evaluation” though.

The tech. has been available for a little while, like measuring an exact down of football. Sensors and so on would save us all the frustration.

They actually keep the humans as umps so they manipulate the outcome of desired games

Never seen a game stopped, a player go to the locker room, and wait to see if that player can come back.

Same for the ump going to the mound every time he called an illegal pitch.

The strike zones were different for most of the game.

And we made some bonehead plays. First base play is an issue when Cable is pitching.
