I expected that we would get dominated like in the VT series. Honestly, we should have won both games against FSU. I'm very pleased with how competitive we've been.
This makes me more confident in our ability to advance in the NCAA tournament.

Those 2 errors in the 6th were killers. The third out of that inning, should that run have counted? Looked to me that the throw beat the runner touching home.

Agree it was close, but I would think that would be more reason to review. When the replay slowed it down it clearly looked as if the throw beat the runner touching home by a hair.

Coach of WSB squad has got to get some dependable gals in infield positions to win in the ACC. We've blown two games w/Noles because of errors, thus far.
Head coach cannot be a happy camper. VT, FSU, Duke and ND are better equipped to win at this point of the season.

Spot on. Was going to post a new thread but saw yours. Rittman partially responsible. I know, Val comes in and shuts them down... Blah blah, 20/20 I get it. But Millie was inducing grounders. Odds were on our side but I can understand bringing in someone, but McCubbin. Someone they haven't seen. Still would have left Millie 1 more batter.
Ok, enough of the hindsight. As you stated. Lace em up and take game 3. WCWS committee is watching these games. They see we compete. Maybe 2 or 3 games this year we were overmatched but that's it and any team can get blown out. It happens. I love these gals as does everyone.
Bet your bottom dollar, not a team in America wants us in their regional. We won't host, not enough teams less a deep run in ACC tourney.

It was an issue last year as well. FSU is ranked 1 in fielding percentage; Clemson is 57. The baserunning leaves a lot to be desired as well.
Give a team extra outs and it will cost you.

to not charge all grounders in softball . . . If you boot it charging the ball, I’ll remain silent . . . but you cannot sit back and let the ball play you . . . no one has tge cannon arm to eliminate the speed the elite teams have . . .
