against the Vols today. Just goes to show, even though she didn't throw a huge amount of pitches, pitching under "tension", with a tie score all day, makes a big difference. It was a great pitchers duel, and no shame in losing to #9 1-0.

She's also not just a pitcher. She plays the field and anchors the lineup on her off days

It wasn't a question of the ball beating the runner. The only question was did May possess it. It was not a call the 1st base umpire could see, but he correctly called her out. The home ump decided his job, with the help of their head coach in the huddle of the two umps, was to say she was safe. We all saw she was out on multiple replays. Not even close.

and was clearly out. For some reason all the tennesse coaches were signaling safe and they talke to the ump who then changed his call. I think they indicated that the ball was being bobbled and not caught cleanly but the replay showed that there was no such boble.

So instead of no on 1 out, they have the leadoff runner on first, who then stole second and was able to make it around to home in the only run of the game.

It was to Moore. More importantly May should have grabbed it and tagged 1st

But, everything else is correct. Moore had time to dive at the bag and get her by a mile. That was my instinct. She was two steps away from the bag. Bottom line, Clemson was given the short end of a stick in a game that someone needed to blink first. I guess it was the umps.

she pitched 9 innings to beat Tennessee last year. Something tells me she always has something in the tank.
