And partly the reason why I believe Republicans win in a landslide come November.
People are fed up.

At this point any reasonably well person, esp. children, SHOULD get the Omicron and enhance our Herd Immunity! As an MD I wholly support that approach. More children will die from the seasonal flu than Omicron.
Sadly, Big O has secondary effects on the noggin; just look at what's left of Brandon's cerebral cortex.
This reminds of a term we learned in medical school pathology: the brain after being attacked by syphilis was described as 'A WINDSWEPT CORTEX' (as in a wasteland)! That brings to mind Brandon Biden's current state of mind, sadly.

I will give you a sec. I am not opposed to that approach at all. That sounds very reasonable on the surface. Also, I think suspending a kid is ludicrous. I was just pointing out the other poster's nonsense. It is scientific fact that certain masks due limit exposure to others. I don't even care about masks though. They just do limit exposure. That said, these kids will be fine. I think they are worried about these little buggers bringing it home to their parent or grandparent. That said, I think we have to love our lives and wing it. I don't even worry about any of it. I am just calling some crackpot out for spewing nonsense. As I stated, I think we have to live our lives and we should adapt our approach that we have been forced to live thus far.

should be a violation some sort of board rule, if its not already, but you did so unfairly. And I have 'science' on my side. So listen up.
Every randomized study - the only kind that counts, and there have been a dozen or so of them - has shown that masks have no effect on the spread of a corona virus in a population. However, they do limit the spread of the number of viruses in a given encounter, so may provide protection in that encounter. How can both be true?
Condoms are 99-point-something percent effective. They work. But of 100 women using that as their protection, 10 will become pregnant during a year. How do 10% of women become pregnant when the device is almost 100% effective? Math. A married woman of childbearing age has sex, statistically, about 100 times per year. With that many encounters, a very small risk per encounter becomes a larger risk over time. So consider what would happen if the condom is only 90% effective. Would say it "works"? Yes, for one encounter. But over a year? The chance of a woman becoming pregnant would approach that of using no condom at all.
No manufacturer is willing to say that a mask stops infections at even a 90% rate. Not even close.
So, do masks work? Yes, maybe, if you are talking about the next encounter. Sure, wear one. But we're talking about many encounters every single day, so no, masks do not inhibit the spread in a population over time. You can like or not like, agree with or not, that explanation, but the dozen randomized tests are there to attest to the truth: masks don't inhibit the spread in a population over time.
How that applies to school kids wearing them over a course of months is something you can decide for yourself. But your language to the poster was uncalled for in any case, and wrong besides. You own him an apology.

That’s a total BS study that can’t be true at all.

And how do I meet them.

Yes,,certain masks limit exposure. You believe in nonsense. Not shocking. I don't care if people wear one or don't. I never wear one unless I am on a plane, but yes, certain masks, the KN95 for example, actually do limit exposure. It's just a simple fact.

The "K" designates a mask made in China which may or may not pass FDA standards.
N95 masks are made in the USA and are required to meet FDA stds...

It’s hilarious how many people wear them over mouth only. I swear if you are going to wear one fine but at least wear it correctly.

Because most of us are sick of the BS and we don't want to wear them. That's partly why I do not. I realize the proper mask may help some random person, but the risk is minimal. I am just going to live free unless a stronger variant hits us, and then I will do my part. At this stage enough is enough.

won't fog. The only reason the mask is on is because some ####### said masks were required wherever I am.
I have zero worry about getting covid. I had delta, I've been vaxed, it didn't stop delta. I've been boosted out of an abundance of caution.
If the disease gets deadly again, I'll break out my stash of N95's that I bought at the beginning of COVID.
