SIAP but can anyone confirm that Lightbulbbill actually passed away?

I’ve not been on tnet that much - and sporadically - of late, but reading the Scott Rhymer post and saw the comment that he was 88 and did pass. That’s not something to kid about, so figure there must be something to it.
If true, he will be missed.

I checked his profile, and his last post was May 26 in reply to an ‘In Loving Memory’ Memorial Day thread.
I also see the tnetter that posted he had passed has actually been ‘at odds’ with Bill. While I hope the post was merely that tnetter’s idea of a jab at Bill, it was surely in poor taste if it was false.
Great news for Bill, but in poor taste, either way.

He’s a great guy. A couple of guys on here give him a hard time but Bill seems to brush them off.

Let's just say he's never been shy to articulate just how little he regards others based on the color of their skin. I'll just leave it at that. I'm not sure that for many that equates to "great guy". It doesn't for me at least.

I thought LBB was in his early 80’s. 83 or 84 years old.

You're right. Bill is about five years older than I, so he's about 83.

He was at Clemson my freshman year, as we both were on "The Tiger" newspaper staff. Bill was a senior sports' columnist, actually a gifted writer and very much up on our athletics. He was a little older than most seniors.
I have seen nothing in obituary notices, so I pray he's OK.

did he ever use the N word in the time you knew him?, I know it was more popular back then. Not judging.

...Bill (William?) Willis and lives in Hilton Head per his profile. I can find no obituary after searching in SC and Ga (and Charlotte where I believe he's from). I think he's in his early 80's. He hasn't posted in a week, so that's kinda concerning. But, he's been known to take a hiatus from posting. Bill is a treasure and huge Tiger fan!
If untrue, it's a really bad and totally unnecessary post by hotsawce

If Bill has passed it is a sad day indeed. We already have such a small number of true positive Tigers on TNet. If true, RIP Bill, he’s carrying that Clemson flag through heaven. If not, thank goodness!

and sorry to hear he passed, as I know a lot fo you guys liked him. But his behavior in the PnR forum over the past year was 1 notch below Nazi. We reached out to him like a friend, but he continued, then amplified.

That is a winning strategy these days. But there is nothing wrong with polite, civil discourse and the exchange of differing ideas. But calling people pedophiles and hitting send on thinly veiled racist posts to make a political point is a different thing.

Yeah he posted crazy crap like Miura. Just bizarre cultish behavior. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miura died from a heart attack based on his angry posts on the politics board and the way he was so worked up all the time. However, if LBB passed away I’m sad for his family. We agreed on nothing politically and also he had said multiple times he was around 83 or 84 years old.
