Thoughts on any changes to roster management Dabo

will make after this season?

Will we recruit more players simply due to the fact we transfer out but do not transfer in?

Any changes to the walk on roster? I counted close to 30 guys on the roster that average 5’ 9” 175lbs. I can’t imagine these kids provide much physical presence in practice.

Next year is only a guess now until we know if we have players turn pro or transfer. Recruiting is a hard job these days.

Need to consider portal if we have a position that does not have a good player would bring in a slot receiver transfer for sure Need to see if Korey Freeman has interest in transferring to us and if Travis Shaw would decommit from NC and commit to us

Dear TD,

As Aretha Franklin used to sing ... You gotta think THINK ...

It is not uncommon for teams in levels of many sports (from HS to College) which have eager and hard-working players which serve as 'practice fodder.'

Those type of guys on the Clemson FB team (walk-on players) allow 4th string and 5th string 'real players' to practice against somebody. There are not typically enough scholarship players to field 5 or 6 teams of opposing offense vs. defense scholarship players. The 5'7" 180 lb. LB knows how to play the position and runs to the correct spot and applies the 'tag' to the scholarship offensive player.

Remember ... there are MANY practices in which no hitting is allowed by NCAA rules.

The 'practice fodder' guys are not always All-State HS players that went to Clemson but were not good enough to play. Many of those former such All-State HS players as students at Clemson have realized that their real playing days are over and instead focus on their school work.

OSU’s, etc practice fodder. Nepotism. Hunter Renfrow was once every 10 years and is not happening any time soon.

Swinney has not managed the roster as well as he can. This year injuries have made it the most noticeable.

We need to bring in 23-25 players every year. If we have to settle for some 3 stars then so be it. We can't continue to have a third of the roster made up of guys who should never see the field.
