if you go through all of the scenarios, it'll take a total disaster for only one team to be left standing.
Its possible, but Arky would have to beat Ole Miss, Ole Miss and Bama would have to beat MSU, Auburn or LSU would have to beat Bama, UGA probably needs to beat Auburn or lose to Auburn and Ole Miss beat Auburn and then UGA lose in the SEC title game and have a scenario where there is only one 1 loss SEC team.
They'll definitely get 2 teams in.....SEC champ and the West runner up.

The SEC champ is in, An unbeaten FSU is in.
I think a one loss TCU/K-State or Oregon gets in and that spot is completely left to chance. It probably comes down to who puts bigger whoopings on their opponents.
I thin kthe other spot goes to a one loss SEC team.....Ole Miss/MSU/Bama/AU. Based on strength of schedule, exposure..blah blah....
ND is probably left out just because they lost to FSU and people can argue they had their shot and that blowout by Bama in the 2012 game still lingers in the minds of the decision makers.

so 3 guys on a daily college football show have an opinion on October 28th 2014. Its pointless.
There are literally 5 or 6 ESPN radio shows, countless journalists and maybe 5 or 6 'News' shows on ESPN everyday.....they all say something different.
They dont have an agenda, probably just caught up in the hype of it all. As of today though, its pretty hard to pick just 4 teams....there is about 8 or 9 worthy teams. It'll sort itself out.
Dumb to have both Bama nand Auburn though....one is going to have 2 losses and that wont fly.

Not that I think this will happen... But if it did - and an undefeated FSU gets shafted for any 1-2 loss teams, I say we (all conferences other than the SEC) secede and start our own BCS/whatever name we come up with. Surely the PAC and BIG conferences are as tired of this nonsense as we are.

Bunch of crazy stuff would have to happen.
Now, it's different to put out a top four teams RIGHT NOW and have three SEC teams in there. There's a very valid argument for that. But I don't think it will stay that way. Some of these SEC teams are going to have 2 losses, and those teams are not going to jump a 1-loss Oregon or Big 12 champ, IMO.

the debate referred to in the original post?
The Original Poster said that someone argued that those four teams were his playoff picks.
Is that "As of right now"...as in they think that those teams (one loss Bama, one loss Auburn, one loss Oregon) deserve it over undefeated FSU? Or are they thinking that this is the way it will end? With at least two more losses coming between Alabama, Auburn and Miss State? He think that two of those teams, with two losses, will be the pick for the "playoff" when there are currently 19 teams with one loss or less in the Big 5?
To even throw that out as a viable scenario at this stage is just ridiculous.
