UMM, What is P Woo saying???

Dec 22, 2024, 12:38 PM

Just saw his tweet saying thank you Clemson.

Just players thanking fans for the year...

David Hood noted that on his stream last night.
Not saying that no one will leave, but he said these were just normal end of year 'Thanks for the support everyone' type messages.

It sounds to me

These tweets seem kind of purposely ambiguous. If they were 100% not leaving, i think it would be thanking the fans for a great season. Tea leaves are hard to read.

Multiple players sent out the same message or similar. Pwoo, TJ Parker and TJ Moore all sent the same message. Not saying it’s anything but we absolutely cannot lose those 3 guys.

These guys have NFL dreams and won’t play another year for Goodwin . I’d we don’t get a good DC that will develop them then we will see more than a handful of portal defections and soon . The clock is ticking Dabo ????

I think if they know, they know.

I fully expect some changes on the defensive side of the ball. I also know that players can see the writing on the wall and probably also feel when a change is near. But even if we do not see changes, it is hard for me to believe we see many contributing or starting players transfer or declare for the draft as they could be sacrificing draft status.

Now backups, that is a different story. If there are no changes, and the team has lost confidence in the coaching staff, underclassmen backups will be the first to start transferring out.

Either way this thing goes, we are not going to know what is going on until well after Christmas and probably not even until well after the new year. But when it happens it will happen quick. And if there are going to be changes, Dabo already knows who he wants and probably has already gotten in touch with them and locked them down verbally.

Look at the situation with Austin and Luke last year. Luke was pretty much locked in before Austin packed up his office, it just was not announced officially until a week or so later.

Parker freshman season he had 5.5 sacks. Sophomore season 11.5 sacks. Seems like he is developing just fine.

If Goodwin is not fired, they will jump ship like rats off the Titanic. Can’t blame them either.

Ehh, probably not the starters....

...and it is going to depend on if they have lost confidence in the coaching staff. Backups, maybe transfer en-mass. Starters, will only leave if they can get a good enough NFL grade to make it worth it. Truth is, if you are starting it does better for you to stay and build your numbers for next year than it is for you to transfer to another school under a different system and risk losing playing time. The only caveat to this would be a starter that was only interested in big NIL money right now, like Mukuba last year. He would have started this year, but needed money for his new baby and left to get the dollars from the highest bidder at Texas.

Just saying there is a lot of thought and decision making that goes into leaving or not even if you don't agree with the coaching staff.
