Two Observations from Saturday

Nov 17, 2014, 10:18 AM

We are going to waste one of the best defenses we have had in a long time on a mediocre season. I think this could be the best defense we have had in 15-20 years and it will be tough to match the talent and execution next year.

A college offense should be about the system and tweaks to that system. It appears to me that our offense is centered too much around one player. I don't think we are at the "plug and play" level but with as well as we have recruited and the OC compensation we ought to be better than this.

Go Tigers!

Tiger: assuming your correct about the 5 up front, please clue us in on who recruited them?

Great post! It absolutely baffled me how we could be so

inept on offense against a mediocre defense. Heck we moved the ball better against Louisville than we did against Ga Tech. Did the guys just give up?

some of this might be chad's redbull addiction. I hope he gets some treatment in the offseason and reports back 100%.

nothing anybody can do when you're QB plays that badly. It doesn't matter how well or how hard anybody else tries.

Cole's play Saturday reminded me a lot of the Obama presidency.

Mostly agree. Although thought our dbacks weren't quite as tight as in other games - but the triple option puts a lot of pressure on them; the GaTech QB threw the ball unbelievably well.

I agree totally the offense to centered too much on one player. Other teams can tweak play calling and move linemean around with injuries and play to replacement players strengths.

Morris has a lot to learn - he gets too much credit for having oustanding talent and not enough blame for poor play calling and not being able to adjust.

I agree we will lose one of the best defenses we have had in a long long time, but I trust in BV a lot as a coach. We lose a lot but man I like what we have coming back on D also. Lawson and Carlos Watkins have got a lot of PT the last two years they are going to be good. EBO will be pretty effective next year but it may take a few games to get going. Pagano will be nasty up front. I know some of these guys haven't played much but look who they are playing behind. Dodd, Reader, and some of those freshmen who are RS. I like what we have coming back on the front line.

LB's I like what we have coming back also:
O Daniel played awesome Saturday and he will continue to improve. Goodson has played good this year, Boulware is going to be the best LB we have next year. I also like Kellen Jones and Chris Register next year. Our Defense will take a step back but by the end of next season we will be pretty good.

Also our Secondary is going to lights out. Kearse and Alexander back there along with Muse the incoming freshman.

our offense needs work though and it starts up front with our big nastys and honestly we cannot call them that right now.
