TV coverage in California

The TV coverage in California for both softball and baseball is pathetic. One camera behind a screen at home plate. Even the announcers in both games are pretty weak.

YES……we’re spoiled with 4 to 5 cameras per game. They didn’t even have the pitch count on the screen (batter or pitcher). The one providing the color was horrible.

we are spoiled when it comes to regional sports coverage in the South East, Same with Texas and Florida. I imagine it is driven by college football revenue which is a cash cow in the south, not so much in California. But that is just a guess.

Part of the ACCN coming to be included each school assembling modern production facilities on each campus to provide professional quality coverage. Clemson fans in particular have gotten spoiled with our in-house capabilities. I guess they have a window still to catch up.

I wonder if the new members of the conference have been given time to get their production abilities improved to meet the kind of investment Clemson, Louisville, FSU, etc was required to do when the ACC Network was launched. The PAC12 network might not have had the same investment requirements.

Didn't see this earlier before post. Considering they're only getting a half of the media haul I wonder if they will have the same requirement for now, or could be a stipulation for getting a bigger piece later.

They are only getting 30% of what we make in the ACC and I doubt they were tearing it up financially in the PAC either since they had no network and couldn't even get a TV deal a few years back.

It's not like they can't afford to update their equipment.
