pledge on Kickstarter - where does one go about procuring tiny oak barrels? Asking for a friend, since making liquor at home is illegal...thanks.

There are actually a fair number of barrel merchants to choose from.

nowadays. And distilling at home taint illegal anymore. Selling your hooch without a license is, but you can distill and age it yourself.

Eh, I probably overstated a little.

It's still technically illegal per federal moonshine laws (which will likely be removed in the nearish future), but you have an almost zero percent chance of legal consequences unless you're selling or distributing what you're distilling. You can readily purchase stills legally from any number of manufacturers. I guess it's akin to purchasing a bong in a state that doesn't yet recognize recreational marijuana?

That's why you can have a full still or parts of a still shipped to you without worrying about having the Revenuers kicking in your door the next day. Charlotte even has a distillers supply store on South Boulevard.
