It’s a large committee and we don’t have any way of knowing how individual members felt about teams.

Discussion about Tarholes, but the fact that Tarholes would’ve gotten in ahead of us shows that he could’ve been poor mouthing us to help Tarholes. I don’t trust anybody from that school.

ever heard from a former UNC official. No matter what he ever says, it cannot change 3 simple things. 1) His vote was one of the 5 in the 5-2 vote for extra year of probation for Clemson, with the 2 nays electing not to vote due to Clemson not being there to represent themselves 2) The worst academic scandal in NCAA history started with fake classes while he was still AD at UNC 3) instead of advocating for extra year for UNC, he shows up to the meeting as the conference Commmisioner, in SUPPORT of his UNC Tarheels. Fight me.

it was faculty reps that voted, not ADs.. says it at least 3 different places in the article
or maybe you don't believe Tim Bourret? or David Hood? or Dull from Maryland?
the ACC sends a representative to every NCAA infraction meeting involving any ACC school. Swofford appear because the UNC Chancellor at the time, H. Thorpe, asked him to

Yes Swofford who has trouble with his memory when it comes to dates

He became UNC AD in 1980, so no he was not a rookie. He had previously worked as an Assistant AD under ACC Commissioner Gene Corrigan (who was not yet ACC commissioner before you say I have trouble with Dates). Perhaps you are right that Swofford was too busy instilling “The Carolina Way” as UNC AD from 1980 until 1997 with the worst academic scandal in NCAA history starting in 1993 with the fake classes. There is no actual proof in the article you quote just going off words of people’s memeory. But if that is acceptable proof, then I will quote an article that does the same, “…Swofford insisted the votes be anonymous”. On another note, I was friends with child of one of the Clemson coaches allegedly involved with the misdeeds. unless you prescribe to the everyone else is doing it why are we getting in trouble, the fact is we got caught. We deserved the probation. But not the extra year. The way it was explained to me, The conference AD’s did meet, they did discuss and vote-vote to make recommendations to the “Faculty Representatives”. Kind of like our state has an education oversight committee that decides things for the members of state legislature to vote on. They no longer do this, in part because they have since admitted they did Clemson wrong by having the same “Faculty representatives” vote and hear Clemson’s subsequent appeal and vote on that. I could go on and on about this.
