Jim Padgett is the only lineman I can remember scoring a TD in that era. I do remember the start of the tiger's wagging tail and eyes blinking.

I was thinking that it was a blocked pass that he intercepted. Jim Padgett was also the kick off man. I remember that he became a starter several games into the 57 season. Coach Howard was not happy how the team played the first couple of games and revamped the entire line. Padgett, Harold Olson, and maybe a couple of others were moved up. One senior captain who was supposed to be a star that year was demoted to 3rd team, and I don't know if he ever played again.
I only got to attend one game a year back then, The Big Thursday Game. I listened to Jimmy Coggins and Ed Osborne announce games on the radio. Jimmy Coggins was by far the best play by play announcer I ever heard.

It may have been a blocked pass. His sister is telling me a blocked punt. She also swears Jim was a freshman in 57' and back then freshmen didn't play. Hey, that is the year I was born so all I got to go on is her memory.
