Obed is correct about that engine, it's not the best.

And he might actually be willing to pay too much for it at $7500. But I bet they'll get something more along the lines of $10k for it.

I was trying to name a price that might buy it while allowing me to flip it for a profit without ever even registering the title in my name.

It wouldn't shock me to see it go for $12k for the simple reason that when people get the Jeep bug, they get stupid.

I don't think $7500 Jeeps exist any more.

A 2014 or newer Hyundai Elantra with less than 80,000 miles. You will get another 100,000 miles out of it with minimum repairs. Also, its front wheel drive will automatically perform better in snow or slick conditions than the CJ5 ever could. An added bonus with the Hyundai Elantra is that you won’t feel compelled to have a split personality where you pretend that you are not the person that put the row of rubber ducks on your dashboard. Nothing queer like that with a Hyundai. You just get in your car, crank up the AC, and drive!

I hate to tell you this but I've been plenty queer in the back of an Elantra.***

The original inline 6 that came in them up until ‘86 is an indestructible motor. Found a couple, but poor body condition. On an ‘82 CJ5, 4cyl, 6K…see if he bites.

or a 401 from an older Jeep truck. Those are direct bolt ins.
Otherwise, its the same answer for every engine swap: A GM LS.

trouble will be LilSlac2 is home and I guarantee he’ll drive the shid out of it. Had a 79 CJ7 that got 12 mpg in town with the inline 6. No need to go into single digits, I’d live at the gas pump.
