D-Linemen. The time is PAST time when we need to do the same thing on the O-Line. We have had servicable O-Lines at times, but none that would in any way, shape or form be considered dominant.
Unfortunately, it seems that most of the potentially great O-Linemen think that they must play for Alabama, or a Big 10 school.
All this info is from an ESPN article a couple years ago, that ranked schools position by position according to NFL draft choices. It went from 1998 thru 2019. We made the Top 10 in ONLY one category, defensive linemen, coming in at #2 on that list. Not even WR or DB made the Top 10. That just tells you how much talent is getting taken into the NFL from these other schools.
The info is obviously circumspect though, as it lists AUBURN as #7 in the nation at the QUARTERBACK position. To me, Auburn hasn't had a good QB before or since Scam Newton. Even 0310 State came in at #10. So, the info is just from being drafted, not from being any good AFTER you got drafted. But, they have had quite a few drafted.
Aside from Bama at #1, the O-Line draft is dominated by Big 10 schools. #2 Wisconsin, #4 Michigan, #5 0310 State. Others on the list, #3 Oklahoma, #6 USC (the Real One), #9 Texas, and #10 Florida.
The only ACC school to make the list was Florida State, at #8. (Unless you count one year member Notre Dame, at #7.)
