with the type of talent we are recruiting on the DL we can't only bring in one DT per cycle. These guys are only going to be here three years and then pro. Need to bring in at least two at all DL positions to keep the program going.

Its this kind of post which makes no sense. We have zero senior DTs on the roster and will only lose one if baby dex decides to go early to the NFL so exactly why do you think we need to bring in two every year?

Davis most likely will leave for NFL. We have Breese for two more years and then he is off to the NFL. You need a rotation of DT. Freshman year they are learning and get some playing time and adjusting while getting strength, soph year producing and more playing time, junior year playing at elite level and then off to the NFL. You need to keep the pipe line full, always going to be someone hurt. Look what happened the other year, we were real thin at DT.

I totally agree about keeping cupboard full. I referenced below the belk situation. We brought in Jeffries kinda hoping he'd develop and never really did. We know what happened to belk leaving, it happens.
Not sure we have to have 2 great 3 yr type guys each year but you definitely need to have a full roster. Hopefully page develops as expected as well as capehart. We may can keep ruke for a couple years... Maybe. But it's sounds like we're missing this year on super talent. So we're forced into taking a project, a Jeffries and hope they develop in 2 years. Seems that forces us to get 2 bresee's or Davis next year. Someone here said next year looked thin on DL.
Is it time we look to the portal to see if we can get a freshman transfer this year?

Nah, looks pretty good for UNC. If you read the comments on the announcement date, sounds pretty definite 4 UNC.
Doesn't sound like Dindy is an option either. Where's Paw. I know I have and others have asked about hero kanu. Paw didn't think much of a chance back in June? I think. Wonder if that's changed.
Hate for this to turn into a "Belk" recruiting cycle where that class of dl never produced and ended up costing us in depth/experience. As much as I'd love Shaw/Dindy, what's option 3 or 4. Surely we had someone in mind.

PAW mentioned Curry, who Clemson has offered. Said something cryptic about Dindy and Ok and A&M possibly pulling out the stops (maybe something unsavory) to keep him off Clemson’s campus. We will see. Need to bring in at least one IMO. Then next year becomes a situation similar to the CB situation this year. Nice when you get DT classes like 2020, but have to realize you’ll probably loose several early. Not to mention Murphy.

I know these kids must go through a lot in deciding which program provides the best opportunity for their future life. I hate to say it but I feel Travis will be a tar heel. When I read his story some months ago I really thought the stars were aligned for him to be a Tiger. The choices he made to get him where he is today are amazing. This young man has the God given talent to go far in the college and the NFL and I feel he will. The one thing I feel he will miss if he takes the path of the light blue road is having the support of coach to fall back on when life doesn't go his way. I wish him all the best and still hope he makes the decision to become a Tiger.

Have faith, those Crystal balls are breakable, so don’t depend on balls that can shatter. I’m going with the underdogs here with little ole Clemson!
It’s a no brainer considering the nfl talent we have produced from our DL!
Some kids like going to a school where they are the best player on a lesser team but Travis will make a great decision to be a Tiger!
I’m going through Greensboro tomorrow so I might have to go straighten him out. Playing for Venables has to excite every true Defender!
