Is Don Munson the worst play by play guy in the nation?

Listening to him call a football game is brutal, constantly changing the yard lines, player numbers and names, guessing what flags are and being completely wrong, etc
Baseball he tries to do too much, talks too much and acts like hitting, fielding and pitching is something that he could have ever done in his life.
Anybody know when he’s retiring or who he has dirt on to be involved with athletics? TIA

That’s especially frustrating during football, it’s just hard to listen
Someone should tell him that more is less. Let the color guy comment on his previous experiences playing and what he’s seen from his playing days. Munson just sounds dumb trying to sound like he has any knowledge of how the games are played
And during football season, if Dabo or another coach mentions something during the week like a key to the game or a key player, Munson will bring it up a million times and act like he’s the one identifying it
I’ve got a lot of pent up frustration from working on Saturdays and listening to him lol

I don't know if I find Todd Ellis worse just because he's a Gamecock or if they're both just bad and the Clemson bias is kicking in.
Whoever said that Munson doesn't give the score enough is forgetting that you could listen for 15 minutes and not get the score from Jim Phillips.

I can almost count on 2 hands the number of times this incompetent man confused Justyn Ross for A.J. Terrell becaus they both wore #8. Dude, one is a receiver, one is a DB. One is dark as hell, the other is light skinned. What am I missing

I’m just forced to listen to a lot of Munson and assumed it couldn’t get worse. The clips I’ve heard of Todd Ellis he at least sounds like someone who knows about sports, and he’s enthusiastic for Scar. Munson looks and sounds like a middle school science teacher, and tries to come off like he played the game, but is constantly mixing up players, numbers, scores, names, and anything else you can imagine
Again, I wonder who he has dirt on to have stuck around. Maybe he’s a volunteer and doesn’t get paid, which would make a lot of sense

He is about as bad as there is . Somehow, he’s even worse at baseball than football. Which doesn’t make much sense as baseball is much slower paced with less action , yet he still struggles to call a base hit to center with a runner rounding 2nd without stumbling and bumbling the call.. If it wasn’t his profession , I’d be hesitant to complain , that and its a head scratcher how he got that job to begin with.

Yes. Believe it or not there really is a large group of fans who truly adore Clemson and everything about it. Some who claims to be “fans” give the Tigers a bad name. But, for some reason, they are permitted to post pure nonsense… like this post!

Don Munson as a play by play guy for something he doesn’t have a good knowledge of, sports, definitely tops my list of disliked Clemson things

I’m sure he’s a good guy, but he seems he would be much better suited and contribute much more as a statistician or a professor. He has no business talking about sports

He’s terrible. Sad that the greatest era in Clemson football history has his voice behind it. Limestone College/Gaffney football PBP guy Fabian Fuentes runs circles around Don. Not even close.

As a lifelong broadcaster and one who hires on air talent for a living, I can tell you there is no one worse than Don. Never describes what’s happening on the field… unless you care about hash marks and if they’re moving left to right (all very old school terms.) and of course every play is “the 30, the 20, the 10, touchdown.” Every. Single. Play. Zero creativity.

I am still full fledged fan of Pete Yanity. Why in the WORLD he was yanked, still boggles my mind.
And is o.k. for pregame. Post-game. Lectures on sociology. Giving a represe of Ben Stine in Ferris Buhler.
But keep him away from the mike during games. He's as exciting as background music at funeral home.

I like Pete Yannity as well, and was disappointed when we didn’t bring him back. I think Don is better suited for being an emcee for events or narrating a season highlights video.

Pete Yanity was just as bad. You had to wait until the play was over to find out what actually happened, because made every play sound like a touchdown.
