I like it. I started getting into it more after I moved back from Chicago. They had a horse track in Arlington Heights, and the races were a lot of fun. I think you have to see a race live to really appreciate the power of these animals.
And, it's a good excuse for day drinking. And, a good excuse for the Queen to wear a ridiculous hat.

One is so rich people can network and entertain themselves and impress others. Second reason, is so people can have an excuse to get rip-roaring drunk.
The second reason spans all racial, religious, and wealth lines. You can go to the Elloree Trials, and get drunk with some rednecks, or go to the Carolina Cup in Camden, and get drunk with wealthier good old boys, or go to Kentucky and get drunk with the Sheik of Hubba Bubbah. Either way, SOMEONE gets drunk.
