when I was in the JECC. I was driving us through Paris and he was navigating. His detailed directions were, and I quote, "Go passed the river and bang a left." We were on the ground ... in the middle of the city... Tall buildings... One way streets... Dead ends...Probably 20 blocks from the river ... and he says "Go passed the river and bang a left." Then he eases his seat back, pulls his headgear over his eyes and goes to sleep.
It turned out to be a great mission, though, and he was a great teammate.
If you ever have a chance, spend a tour with the JECC. it's still part of TRANSCOM, I think.

an army brat who understood the promotion to field grade tried explaining it to my 2 1/2 year old son. When she said "Daddy is a field grade officer now." My son said "Daddy is a fool grade?" I had a good laugh at that as I used to ask my friends that got promoted whether they had scheduled them for a lobotomy or a castration.
