Why did we decide to have a playoff AND a committee??

I thought a playoff OR a committee would be sufficient. I'm not sure we needed both, or did I miss something?

Now that we've seen it, the committee is not a good idea, at all! I would really prefer the BCS rankings with a 6 team playoff.

Frankly I'm not sure why they don't just use the FCS model

that has worked perfectly fine for decades.

Oh that's right, people are too concerned about maintaining an antiquated Bowl system when in relaity you could easily have both.

In their defense, it took a couple of years to get the BCS right. Maybe, they make some changes and get it right next year.

I'm personally glad it's a mess. I hope this leads to an 8-team playoff sooner.

the bcs system was more forgiving to teams that played the sisters of the poor for all 4 of their out of conference games

the committee hurts non-power 5 teams more than power 5 teams..winning will still take care of itself..

the big 12 shot itself in the foot by not having a championship game imo..i do think if they had a title game and a clear champion it would have made it easier for baylor or tcu to make it in over the outright big10 champ

i dont disagree with you that the bcs system still would have worked just fine though

My biggest gripe is teams like Ole Miss and Miss St lose and hardly move down in the polls where as the much hated FSU don't lose but do move down. I know the simple answer is "SEC" but that's not good enough. This committee is not made up of the best people to rank college football teams. Some were put in position to quell the pc police ,others because of their check book.IMHO.
