He was a tough running college RB that I truly thought would make it in the NFL. But in the NFL these days, they want big blocking RBs bc of the way they use their TEs and WRs in the game, and they can use both as a RB if needed!!!

No position has been devalued more in recent years than

running back in the NFL. The prevailing wisdom now is you NEVER give a running back a second contract. You just go out and get another one, instead. And, unfortunately for running backs, it IS the most "plug and play" position on an NFL team. The WAYNE TRAIN FAR exceeded any expectations most of us ever had for him as far as an NFL career goes. Probably the best "throw-in" scholarship offer in the history of college football.

Definitely agree with this. Early in his time at Clemson I never would have predicted him to have an NFL career, but he kept getting better and better. I can't recall a RB who improved that much over time.
And his blocking...he'd be a favorite of mine for the block on Watson-to-Renfrow even if he'd never done anything else in his time as a Tiger.

His blocking was great but his durability at in-game effort was a significant part of what I remember. It was almost strange how much harder he ran the further into a game we got. He’d start off average but would be absolutely trucking LBs by the 4th.

Hate to see him released again without really getting any playing time.
He is one of my favorites, not just from the recent teams, but overall. His hard running/never give up style was GREAT to watch!
Go Tigers!!!

You go Wayne, you’ve made great money with retirement too!
Everything you do now is bonus, because you are still trying to break out as a great back! Keep reaching and dreaming Wayne Train!
Total determination Tiger!

I'll always love his run in the 2017 CFP champ winning drive

He basically bounced five yards backwards off a Bama defender but kept running and made a good gain.
Dude just refused to be tackled his whole career.

2015 FSU Last Nail in the Coffin TD

I will never forget the final TD against FSU in 2015. I know we’ve had bigger plays, but that was a breakthrough. That TD said ‘ITS OVER’ and ‘WE’RE ON OUR WAY!’ all at the same time. We all knew CU was good, but we had to get past FSU. It was a great feeling. Better than ‘03, ‘09, or even ‘11.

Much love and appreciation for the Wayne Train. He played so hard for us and gave his all each time on the field. I hope that he's been careful with his money. He's got a Clemson degree and a lot to look forward to.
