The NCAA is going to do anything in their power to nudge the Irish into the finals, including this nonsense. It's all about the money, folks. Ridiculous. Dabo will have the boys ready to play and I hope they play angry as heck. Go Tigers!

Now hold on there. If you think that the NCAA "likes" Notre Dame, you need to spend more time investigating the way they have treated Notre Dame. Quite the reverse, I think: Notre Dame has had more than its share of NCAA nonsense of its own to deal with.
In particular, have a look at the Mickey Mouse justification they had for vacating all of our wins in 2012. And don't just assume that I'm saying this because I'm a Notre Dame fan and of course I will. Trust me; I'm not.
Notre Dame voluntarily and retroactively (after conducting a two-year investigation) lowered the grades of several players who had violated their internal honor code in 2012, by allowing one of their student tutors to write a paper for them. The administration then reported this to the NCAA. The NCAA then proceeded to retroactively declare the players ineligible to play due to the lowered grades, and used that as the justification to vacate the wins. In other words, they disincented Notre Dame from applying their honor code as they saw fit — if Notre Dame hadn't lowered the grades two years later, the students' status wouldn't have changed.
Compare that to the violations at North Carolina (if you're not familiar with them, you can easily read up on them for yourself). The NCAA did nothing, saying that matters like creating sham courses for football players were out of their jurisdiction. This is preferential treatment for Notre Dame? I can't see how.
Some teams' players have been arrested for armed robbery and never missed a game; our Max Redfield got caught with a gun and kicked off the team permanently the next day. Fine with me. Teams can enforce discipline any way they want. But when the NCAA singles out programs that do their best to abide by the rules, and let the worst violations slide because a raft of lawyers is making it difficult, I get pretty steamed. And it seems pretty clear that this thing is more of the same.
These guys are out of control, and the last thing I want to see is for them to "make an example" out of another program that tries to do the right thing. Especially when they cut and run at the first sign of a fight. About that, I'm glad to see these these players have legal representation; that seems to be the only thing that the NCAA administration listens to.

no favoritism for ND?please spare me pal!hearken back to when nbc gave a lucrative tv contract to ND and no one else virtually guaranteeing that all of their games would be televised,and the ncaa gave it's blessing,but that wasn't an unfair recruiting advantage.other schools got penalties and sanctions for giving a recruit a t-shirt or a baseball hat.ND's sanctimony and arrogance scream hypocrisy.you choir boys are no better than anybody else.

couln't have said it better myself.started telling friends before the usuc game and the playoff teams were selected that i had a feeling that the sec didn't want us in the playoffs,because we probably have the best chance of beating alabama.also thought that the media and the ncaa were drooling at the thought of a ND-alabama matchup and the money it would bring in.
