Gee...after 69 years I have certainly learned to rely on these preseason postseason "predictions". Waste of time to read.

Agree, it's a waste of time. Although, back in the day, I couldn't wait to go to the newsstand and get the mags. Then again, it was the only national media read on Clemson.
The only thing that's depressing is how much we've been picked to fall off from just about all the "old " known media outlets. Personally, I think we'll know in the first 3 weeks of the season whether or not concern is warranted.

The most absurd thing about these sport media heads, they will make their preseason pick with the teams they most like the best, and never at any time will we ever hear a single one of them say boy I sure was wrong about Clemson or whoever else they will throw in the back seat only bc they like another team or their coach better than they liked another coach, and it's been that way for Clemson ever since Dabo has done all that he has done at Clemson.
Hear is the real pissser, they done it the very same way even when Bama and Clemson were hands down the two best 2 FB programs in the entire country, but they would boost Bamma over everybody, but they would always give other team that hadn't proven anything the credit they should have been giving to Clemson, but they would pick them over Clemson. We either just get use to it, or find a way to call them out in a public forum and force them to explain why they would choose teams over Clemson that would get beat down by Clemson. They will also pick teams over Clemson that hasn't proven anything in years. If they are going to do that job they should do it fairly regardless of much they like or dislike the coach.
FSU beat Clemson on the score board for the first time in 8 years as of last season, but the media heads were believing that FSU was back with Norvell, and Norvell was their 3d hire since Jimbo that we also beat in his last season at FSU, and FSU hadn't beat Clemson since 2016. We had beat FSU 7 straight years up until the refs actually helped FSU to beat us last year.
Go to the youtube video's and type in Clemson VS FSU 2023, use your mouse to advance the game to 11:58 of the second QTR. and watch the replay, the replay show the QB with his knees on the ground when he picks the ball up, then he stands up and takes the ball across the goal line. Heck, I'll just leave the link here to make it easier or quicker to see what I see. I'm not saying they wouldn't have scored bc they would have I think 3 more downs bc that play was 1st down, but they didn't by the rules score a legal TD on that Play, and we may have kept them out of the end zone, our D had kept teams out of the end zone many times before against good teams. One more thing,
all of you that is critical of Cade, watch the entire games from last season, give Cade the same average time as most college QB's get to get the ball out, he will do really good things as our QB bc he has proven that with average time he is a pretty good QB, and better than most in the ACC when he has the same amount of time.
IMHO, Thomas Austin should have been fired during the season. His inexperience as an O line coach was way below average, and I'm totally surprised that Cade made it through the season without a season ending injury bc our O line was leaving him wide open to take some monster hits that he never seen coming, just like the hit where Cade got blasted and FSU returned for a TD.

Wasn't Clemson picked to win the ACC last pre-season? I don't know man. It feels like Clemson has been given the benefit of the doubt the last several preseason polls, only to finish the season ranked lower. We don't need to play this Rodney Dangerfield role like we're some victim of consistent preseason media doubters. That's just not true. It's simple, the team just needs to go out and prove people wrong this season.

I wish our coaches had solidified the kicker position before the FSU game. A missed 30-yarder kept us from beating the Noles last year, with a backup kicker.

Your right about Austin. The question I have is why did Dabo hire him. His decisions are much deeper than morals and conviction. He's trying to give others the same opportunities he was given. The staff is still heavy with former players and friends of Dabo. Most notable is wide receivers coach Grisham. I hate to be a DEBBIE DOWNER but this year is not going to be any better, maybe worse.

If Clemson regains a consistent downfield passing games with a Phil Mapha running attack and an attacking defense, Clemson will be back as ACC champions and in the playoffs. I predict DJ chokes big time at FSU and they are out of any chance for contention by the middle of the season.

So how many teams have won at least 8 games in the last 15 years because that is the next accolade Dabo is going to brag about after this season.

A comparison with a big money SEC team with our record is so awful, we’ve won more than twice the games amd lost 1/10th of the games😂🤣
58-66 U of SC last 10 years 14 7-6 15 3-9 16 6-7 17 9-4 18 7-6 19 4-8 20 2-8 21 7-6 22 8-5 23 5-7
Their best season was our worst season, so embarrassing! At 9-4 we won 15 game in 2018, 14 in 2015, 2016 & 2019, 6 playoffs & 4 National Championship games & 2 National Championships!
Clemson had a good run at the end of College football as we know it, hopefully things turn around by 2027 or 2028.
I’ll be surprised if we get through this season with the financial bubble busting, the wars, election & etc.
Get your supplies in order for power-loss & food lines 😳
