The public enemy #1, a political campaign derived and promoted by the US government during the 1930's, is hardly #1 on my list. This change is a long time coming. With the other stuff out there, both legal and illegal, Mary Juana is the least of my worries. If it were not for the lobbyists and corrupt politicians, it would have never been illegalized. I maintain, as before, I have never seen anyone who was under the influence of weed, and only weed, start a fight or beat their significant other. I cannot say the same for alcohol. Furthermore, there other things abused that time would be better spent apposing imo.

Would be such be things like you have a education program about the dangers of drugs/addition and adding them a drug counselor. It may also include things like extra test for a period of time. Having a another positive would t have anything to do with whether the school/player was making efforts and complying with policy
The only thing this changes is less suspensions due to higher thresholds and multiple opportunities

Interesting.
There are going to be a lot of state laws that create a gap in the interpretation of this policy. For instance, Oregon probably could more easily embrace it because of their community/legal positionings.
It also is still a federal offense, so "Bowl" games out of state may be extra trouble.
Team policies will also need to address what may be allowed by the NCAA [versus what] may not jive with student-athletes conduct in-house. I imagine this will be another gray hair for Dabo, just like when the NCAA opened the door on NIL.
However, as a former athlete, I will say that the thought of pain mitigation through a more natural means is appealing, especially with all the laced opiates out there on the street and super high addiction rates.
The NHL has been using a similar policy for several years now. Granted a portion of their league is in a country where chong is legal, as well as some US states, but they do a good job of being transparent in their screenings. Essentially, they keep it open so they can identify (and then assist) players who may be using the devil's lettuce more than others.
I'm sure Ohio State or Miami are going to push the limits on this, however.

The programs for dealing with will be roughly the same no matter the school. Has nothing to do with law and what is legal in what states.

I agree, there are no gaps in the law and they supersede whatever the NCAA says or does with their administrative testing policy. I guess what I was trying to say is that there could essentially be schools where recreational puffing the magic dragon is permitted by the state, and this NCAA stance could be one less bar for student athletes to participate (ie in those communities student athletes could not recreate due to NCAA testing, but if the testing is relaxed, they would be more prone to do so due to the lax state standards).
For the record I don't advocate one way or another-I think the ultimate goal should be the health of our communities and young people, while being responsible under the rules society has agreed to.

Good, it’s silly they even test for it when in all but 3 states you can legally buy over the counter at a gas station or CBD store items that contain THC but are missing certain molecules or derivatives as a loophole. You would still test positive for THC if drug tested, finally a little common sense, full common sense would be no more testing any where.

You are 100% correct concerning CBD stores etc. Those Delta products contain THC. You can acquire a good buzz and fail a drug test with them.

So where is one of these poor student athletes, who barely get by without any NIL money going to go to smoke. And that is even if they have some rich snob friends who are willing to give them the weed because they certainly can't afford to buy it when they can't even afford to take the best girl to any place you could smoke it.

My daughter was busted by local college police 7 years ago at 20 years old for drinking beer underage in bar - Minor in Possession charge. Counseling, $700 fine and community service. Sure pizzed me off because city council, police and local government employees just do not get this idiotic harassment with their kids. And if you do not know, most kids 15-16 and older are drinking and now smoking weed ... seems like weed is more acceptable to so-called government authorities.

When do you think that might happen with Ostarine?
Other governing bodies say 3 months' suspension is enough for minute offenses or test failures showing a trace amount. NCAA still says one year, regardless of amount.
For a performance enhancing substance with no side effects that was designed for senior citizens.
