He's not wrong that "FSU has one of the most stacked rosters in the country."
The problem is Clemson literally has more blue chip players outright, not to mention the other advantages Clemson has in a league FSU hasn't won in a decade.
I get FSU's hype, & they're legitimately competitive, but I just don't think even a marginally-improved Clemson will have any trouble after being flawless in league play at home against a team that lost 3 straight ACC games last year who's also coming off a road trip to BC while we play FCS Charleston Southern & FAU after playing a physical Bobcats team.

That coaching staff has yet to prove that they can win the tough high pressure games. What would they do going into the 4th quarter minus 10-14 points against a defense the same caliber as ours???

I suppose our staff has the same problem, if not moreso, albeit at least the biggest part of it is unproven outright.
Still, FSU might be great, maybe even elite, but being elite isn't the same as being in the playoff, & I think that's still Clemson's spot for the taking (& FSU isn't taking it at Death Valley in week 4).

What is a stacked roster? Something media contrives...last year FSU was stacket...best QB, WR ,RB ,DE TE, FS and still got beat like a drum...we called off the dogs at the end of the first half and we had no QB, no OL, no DBs, no RB etc...the Florida State Women's Teachers College still needs proving after Dumbo Fishnet left for the aggies!

In our last Natty year, all the pundits said AL was the best team in the history of college football, too. How did that work out? Time will tell, but that kind of talk and hype will get you beat, sometimes.

But they were good & that, too, was a huge help to us----we haven't stopped talking about it since, for example, but having FSU ranked high & being competitive in the ACC finally helps us with some doors we didn't have the opportunity to open.

Does this guy understand our roster at all? He throws shade at our DL? The Tigers two-deep on the DL is the probably the strongest in the country.
The media Noles crush is alive and well. I would definitely say they have improved but sheesh. Maybe these guys should pump the brakes a bit.

I know FSU the program hasn't competed for the league in a long time & lost 3 games last year in the ACC alone so it's easy to say they suck and it's all hype.
The problem is a lot of that talent they have is absolutely legitimate & proven in tougher leagues in many cases, & that's OK. Trey Benson from Oregon, for example, is as comparable to Will Shipley as they come (rather than it being all hype), I'm just not sure it matters in terms of getting a win in Death Valley or vs. LSU.
The really fascinating part is when people say the Seminoles are "more talented" than Clemson... even though Clemson still literally has more blue-chip players on the roster outright. Consider that. Yes, FSU may be elite, but Clemson may as well even in spite of unproven receivers at an elite level.
FSU may literally be elite... but it won't matter when they're 2-2 after coming to Clemson, for better or worse.

I think Joel Klatt was accurate in his summation on FSU. They're a really good team but they dropped games last year they shouldn't have. Clemson beat them at home and it wasnt as close as the score. Now we play them at DV with an improved defensive secondary, new OC and veteran o-line. Tigers are a good bet in this situation.

Y'all, don't we WANT any of our opponents to be ranked high, though?
Even if we disagree with the writers, it's still a benefit outright, if not vastly more beneficial than the opposite, know what I mean?
They're not even necessarily wrong about FSU being talented, & perhaps the writers listened to Clemson nation last year when we were collectively hating our own players again.
I think it's misguided, for sure, but FSU being loaded with elite-level talent is legitimate. Winning in Death Valley this year is simply a much taller order outright in spite of the ACC finally (maybe?) having another competitive opponent to help us make our case if we lose a game or are in legit contention for post-season awards including even the Heisman (especially if we get a rematch with FSU).
