I wonder if the Madden '20 virtual crowd will be all liquored up and have the Valley rocking for a night game.

You have to think the sound technician is going to really crank it up since the game vs UVA is a real game and not a scrimmage.

So I didn't see the ABC game for 10/3? Who will be on there? I'm guessing if The U stays unbeaten, we'll play them the following Sat on ABC that night.

Clemson- Virginia is being carried on the ACC Network as was Clemson - Citadel. Comcast is the only cable provider in our area, and they refuse to carry the ACC Network even if we, as customers, have offered to pay more for them to provide it. (They have told me that the ACC Network charges too much for them to offer it.) Before it came along we could see more Clemson games because they would be carried on other networks we do have. So, I as well as many of our friends, am sorry there is an ACC Network.

Comcast Xfinity is a pain, that is your real problem.
Just get on with streaming, it works great on the smart TV's. Find a way YouTube, ESPN or some other service will have Clemson. Living in Texas has been challenging for Clemson on TV, I even bought one of those 10' Satellite dishes in the 1980's for the network feeds. Now the ACC Network games have been picked-up on ATT U-verse. Not crazy about ACC Network, but at least every game is televised now, just have figure it out and adapt. Sorry you are stuck with Comcast, cut the cord! Go Tigers!

Exactly!! I knew this would be the case before it launched. They are using Clemson football as a stick to try and tame Comcast. It ain’t gonna happen so be prepared for more and more mediocre Clemson games to be hidden from us Comcast customers. And for those who say go with YouTube TV or some other streaming service I have 6 TVs only one of which is a smart TV. Plus I would pay $110 minimum from Comcast for Internet only so how is any streaming service going to save me money? YouTube TV is now up to $65 a month and it won’t get any cheaper.

I use Xfinity for internet only and pay $55 a month plus they throw in their flex device for free (this could convert one of your non-smart TVs to smart). Then just get a Roku or Fire Stick for the others.

You’ll end up saving money, you’ll have ACCN and the more ACC fans who do this will hopefully eventually result in Xfinity adding ACCN, so more money for Clemson.

It’s easy. All current Xfinity customers should fire them.

I completely agree with the Xfinity/Comcast issue. In Minnesota we are stuck with it. I like the On Demand features of it so I am reluctant to switch.

The only issue is that these boneheads will not carry the ACCN.

Sorry I hate the ACCN for taking away my Tigers football. The Citadel game was the first game that I have not been able to watch in years because of this.

Clemson UVA is a solid game and should be on one of the major networks. ESPN is just trying to pressure Comcast.

Maybe you should be sorry you have comcast, I mean that is the real problem if they are the only provider that don't carry the ACCN!!!

The ABC games for October 3rd are...

Noon = Baylor @ West Virginia
3:30 = UNC @ Boston College or Oklahoma State @ Kansas
7:30 = Oklahoma State @ Iowa State or TCU @ Texas

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson-Virginia game time announced

Sep 21, 2020, 2:08 PM

As for October 10th, I think there is a real strong chance we will end up on ABC. According to the schedule on ESPN's site, there are only three Big 12 games that day and two of them are already labeled as being on FOX. That leaves Kansas State @ TCU. The B1G will not have started yet and the SEC controlled games cannot appear on ABC. So, the ACC should get at least two of those ABC slots that day I think.

It looks like there are six ACC games on that Saturday. FSU @ Notre Dame is on NBC, so that leave five games. It the pattern of three games appearing on the ACCN holds true that weekend, that means two other ACC games could end up on ABC. I'm pretty positive we would be one of them and it would probably be the primetime game. Virginia Tech @ UNC would be a good candidate for one of the other ABC slots.

#1 team and the country, half the teams aren't playing and we are still stuck on ACCN! WTH?!?!?!?! Comcast is really pissing me off. I can watch replays of Rutgers vs Indiana from 2017, but not a live broadcast of the #1 team.

Re: TNET: Clemson-Virginia game time announced

Sep 21, 2020, 2:20 PM

I would imagine that placing this high profile game at 8 PM on the ACCN is another attempt to have angry Xfinity customers cause an uproar. Everyone complains that the ACC is falling behind the SEC and B1G in terms of money. So, this is the best way to try to close that gap a little. Once the ACCN is on Xfinity, that should cover pretty much all of the major carriers. So, if you are an Xfinity customer, you can either be vocal with your complaints, or hit them where it hurts by switching to a satellite or streaming service. Maybe if enough people drop Xfinity over this, it will cause them to cave. Otherwise, nothing is going to change until their deal with Disney expires at the end of 2021. Until then, I can see ESPN placing games like this on the ACCN to add more pressure.

Outside of this ACCN nonsense I'm pretty happy with Comcast/Xfinity. The Hulu / YoutubeTV services suck, the costs keep going up, the stations are still pretty limited, and I still need to pay for internet. The dish companies I didn't like years ago where my reception would go out if the weather was bad. I still remember trying to watch a Clemson bowl game maybe 10 years ago during a snow storm and had to go out side to throw snowballs at the dish on the roof to knock the snow off. Also I'm in a condo and don't even know if I'm allowed to install a dish.

Outside of the few instances of Clemson on the ACCN I have no interest in watching ACCN and am happy with Comcast. As you and others have pointed out this seems to be more of a decision by the ACC or maybe Disney to force the hand of Comcast and using the fans as pawns in their fight.
