Chez Mellusi talks transfer reason, what's next
Clemson junior running back Chez Mellusi entered the NCAA transfer portal recently out of a logjam in the Tigers backfield. Mellusi was one of seven scholarship backs, including super senior (NCAA waiver) Darien Rencher, competing this spring. "Honestly, I just felt like I needed a change. I talked Read Update » |

I know Dabo loves this kid, his face lit up when talking about his toughness. I believe he has something else going on too. He was in position to win the starting spot. I’m sure the pressure is pretty big with CJ because he’s such a perfectionist but he’s trying to make them all the best they can be.
He will be missed this season.
I’m thankful we have great talent at the position.

I think he saw the talent of Mafah and Shipley. Then look at the jump Pace made since last year and add in Dixon. He knew he was in a large committee of great players and he would never be the every down back at Clemson if he wants to be a workhorse. Having multiple backs is great not only for team but for the longevity of the player but many young men want to be the star like HS.
Wish him luck! If he steps down in competition he could get his wish.

I just read that Wisconsin offered him and they are recruiting him the most. I hope the best for him wherever he goes and I hope he gets his chance to start.

Maybe he said what he meant and doesn’t need a translation

Maybe he, like many of us, thinks he is better than Lyn J and didn’t like existing spring practice behind him because he is a year younger.
