No. Basketball starts in October with practice. But he wasn't recruited by anyone to play bball.

Yeah it really is. Still baffling we didn't offer him until late and that he didn't have more p5 offers. Not sure why I thought he was a midyear. Darn, wanted to see him in the spring game.

Think Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders type of back.
Should be interesting in 2023. Possible red shirt to power up in the weight room.

Stars really don't mean much do they ????? The kid has seen the enzone a few times !!!!
3 Star running back that had -- 4608 rushing yards / 78 Td's - 1202 passing yards,11 TD's - a couple return TD's ---- 6272 all purpose yds. -- maybe he can help a little?? what yall think ??

Exactly why it's so baffling. I've got to think he didn't camp much. He's a steal. Got a chip on his shoulder. Very impressive that Riley watched his film and was excited to talk with him. Load that boy up with Wheaties then let him be a Cole turner in November.

Harper was extremely talented...he made the wrong college choice....during that time, had he of picked Fla instead of us, he'd probably of been waaaay better.....we didn't fit him well at that time

To all those who complained bitterly that Clemson has lost its appeal to potential star RBs (recognizing that no HS RB can be a COLLEGE star RB until, well, he gets to college), there is still time to jump on the Jarvis Green Express.
We Clemson fans can smile privately at those fans of other schools and at those talking heads at ESPN and the SEC network who, via their (frequently snide) comments, deride our Clemson football program and, by association, our players.
To use an old poker metaphor … read ‘em and weep.

You say that trey but how much better can you recruit than Christian McCaffrey and najee Harris... both of which will be juniors. we had meluishi- who went to a school that's been in the conversation of rbu. We have a couple more that would start at 80% of the schools. I'll be highly surprised if this guy doesn't become a star.

Anybody know why he didn't have more Power 5 offers? I would think over a 100 career TDs and that many rushing yards at the premier high school power in the state would have brought more offers. Not a knock on the kid in any way. Just curious.

I believe the main issue was his size and durability at the next level but with the right weight on him he will be fine. I say look at the kid at Kansas St and what he was able to do at 5'6" and 180 lbs. I have officiated many of his games from pop warner on up and I can tell you he plays bigger than his size and don't blink unless you want to be that 50 year old official with his tongue hanging out trying to catch him LOL. This situation was me and the defense on many occasions working his games.
