People are making me laugh at how they see this as a negative thing!
It's almost like they didn't read that he is coming back as an analyst!
Or it's as if, "they don't understand that people grow and learn and get better"!
Almost like they believe they themselves are perfect!
People keep hollering for Jeff Scott. But, Jeff Scott in every interview states over and over and over and over again; we talk about it and plan it and on occasion call it as a team.
I.E. they all put in their bit and the play caller on game day puts them in the right call. Having Chad be a part of "the collective" can't hurt anything.
Especially because he has a great track record for putting points on the board! As a Clemson fan, the last couple of years has been sorely missing. It's laughable to me, so many are having an issue with this, especially because as you pointed out: "it's as an analyst"!

Chad did us a good turn while he was here while with us, but it's it likely a former head coach is going to sit back and let Riley do his thing? I have assumed Jeff Scott's return sees him as OC in training, but Chad? What's he really going to be doing? I don't see him as a coordinator in training and don't see him as Dabos replacement on training so, why is he back?

Wait a minute, did somebody just say "Why is he back?" Are you freaking kidding me? Chad Morris knows a heckuva lot about football. Don't get too caught up in the misfortunes this guy had after leaving Clemson. Hiring him sounds like something Saban would do, and it confirms that Dabo knows what the heck is going on. Dabo would be crazy not to bring this dude back. Our offense needs a little help right now, and if the combined offensive brain power of DABO and GARRETT and CHAD can't get it done, then I don't know who possibly could. I can't wait for September...

I think and hope above all that's good in this world, that this is just a friend doing another friend a favor, but nowhere under the SUN do I see a favor owed with the Chad's constant attempts to get away from Clemson when he was there before. I pray that an Analyst Role is as far as Dabo will allow Chad Morris to advance within the Clemson FB program.
I haven't forgotten that Chad left the players and his assistant coaches hanging right when the FB team was about to enter bowl practice for a game Against Oklahomo. I think that everybody has a reason for doing what they do, but I'll never understand his reasoning for getting out of Clemson as fast as he did running to a program that had absolutely no reason for Chad to be there before he filled his commitment to our Clemson FB program.

Pulling the ripcord and jumping into a cushier job before the previous job figured out he was in over his head.
Those of us paying attention knew we had gotten all the water out of that sponge that we were gonna get when he left. Unfortunately we’ve still been hamstrung by his tired playbook up until last season, and I really thought the Riley hire meant moving away from his influence in the program.

With Riley at the helm and CM on board, our offense could be really really good. I'd take 40 pts and 500 yds per game!

It's a huge question mark, but I know Riley will cut it loose, and Chad Morris, as a general rule, tried to throw at least one long pass per quarter when possible.

He left at the perfect time before and it should have closed a nice chapter. He couldn’t adapt when opposing DC’s figured him out the last go-round and his entire system was from Malzahn. This is another friend of Dabo lifeline.

your obtuse perception might not be reality. Yea, you're Mr. All knowing and insiders' gift to god/all that who gives AF, but maybe, just maybe Chad is a piece of the puzzle that helps the offense thrive in 2023.
Otherwise, you're a genius.
Signed,

Morris was the biggest reason for our program’s rise to greatness, followed closely by Venables.
Really glad to see him back here. I think he and Riley will work well together.

And the general consensus is that Riley will be a head coach in 2-3 years. This would be a perfect opportunity for Coach Scott to re-hone his offensive skills and step in when Coach Riley leaves. I would love to see him on staff, with the added responsibility of recruiting coordinator.

Looks like Dabo done lost his mind. We already got the best OC from TCU. Morris was terrible OC when we had Watson and Cole. When Watson got hurt he had no clue how to coach Cole. But when he left the other co OC rocked let Cole lose and won huge bowl game. I bet if Cole Stoudt was OC last season he would have played Cade.
