Ella Strong: Bresee plays for younger sister, inspired by her brain cancer battle

Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee walks out onto the field for pregame warmups and immediately looks into the stands for his family, usually his had Richie, his mother Meghan, and younger sister Ella. Two members of that group have been noticeable in their absence through the first two games of the 2021 season, but Bresee hopes for a reunion later this season. It’s a reunion we are all hoping for. Great story. St Jude does wonderful work and the space flight today is to help raise money for them. I have always felt that place is really doing the Lord's work. We routinely support them but I wish we could do even more

St. Jude is where my wife and I send our monthly charities.

My mother lived to be 88 years old, and over the last 25 years of her life she mailed a check to St. Jude every month.

My wife and I also send a large donation in my mothers name once a year. St. Jude gives hope to so many families.

God bless the Bresee family!

Absolutely! Reading this story this morning should remind us all that each of us is fighting a battle of some type. Knowing that Bresee has this, classes, practice, and just being away from his family at such a tough time is more than enough to deal with at his or any age. Prayers for this family and especially Ella.

Just when you think you are having a bad day, you hear about someone special like Ella who is battling like a warrior to whip cancers butt! Thanks to David Hood for sharing this incredible story. It has surely put things in perspective for me. I wonder if there's a way to have a moment of silence or prayer for Ella, Bryan and the entire family during this Saturday's game? I'm sure that would lift all of them up tremendously. Will continue to send prayers up for Ella and for Bryan as he fights on the field to honor his sister. Fight on Ella, Tiger Nation is with you all the way!!!
