I kept hoping to read Dabo saying that Brown would start somewhere in the lineup for the rest of the season. I guess he didn't bc that would be admitting that somebody has screwed up evaluating him in practice, but he ain't about to admit anything like that, he will never admit that he or one of his coaches miss with their judgement of a player. He will always make it sound like they all of a sudden just got it, or that the game in their moment just slowed down...
Hey Dabo, breaking news, Mr Wonderful misjudged one of his best LB's, probably bc he was to busy telling players about his different way of coaching and explaining how a coach doesn't have to have that fire that BV had, to be a great coach, and maybe not but I believe that it helps. It surely doesn't hurt when that type of passion comes from a coach that's teaching players how it's done!!!

SB had some pretty bad PFF grades in games this season

He wasn’t going to start over 2 veterans who were not missing assignments like Sammy was. He’s a talented FR that often looked like a FR. If you’re thinking SB starts every game from here on out you may be assuming way too much. He started because a 3 LB system made sense against VTs run focused offense. Couple that with loss of Shelton Lewis at Nickel it probably made the decision that much easier. Pitt is a passing team so I would be surprised to see 3 LBs unless they are going to see if one(Woodaz) can play a lot of coverage better than having a true nickel back in the game. Citadel won’t matter. You may see 3 again against USC as that is probably similar to VT offense. Not a lot of depth at LB - we are headed towards cooler weather and only 3 games left for sure but having to rotate for 3 LBs vs 2 also may be a concern.

Dabo, there are other issues that require your immediate attention. You need to replace Wes Goodwin with a more aggressive, not soft, approach to the defense. They need to use more blitzes as per Venables. You need to correct the field goal attempts by hiring an expert to correct the problems. Either the O line, the kicker kicking too low, or the holder isn't holding the ball correctly. However, the O Line not getting pushed back is a good place to start.
Someone ought to be able to correct that in a week.
What happened to all those many, different, offensive plays that Riley had been using. Now you have allowed, or, instructed Riley to resume running Mafah up the middle on first down. That didn't happen for 3 or 4 games after the Ga game and the results were great. It is a wasted down. Stop throwing so often passes to the sideline. Hardly any gains, if any, are made. Cade is running for his life more frequently. O line? Quicker passes, slants to the middle of the field. TE straight down the field. Why aren't the receivers getting more separation? What are your position coaches teaching? Maybe one or more needs replacing.
Play with a tougher attitude. O and D appear too soft. Get'em mean, attacking. Maybe some of these tips will blow away Pitt this weekend and that is needed for the press. Go my Tigers for 70 years. Go, get tough Dabo.!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL at calling for a DC to be fired after a game where the defenses didn't allow A SINGLE SCORE until there was less than 4 minutes left on the clock.
