Ultimately, that is probably where it's going. But we're not there yet.

Yes. 100 percent. How could any competitive brand not want this?Especially brands like FSU and Clemson over contributing to a weak league.

Transfer portal = free agency, NIL money is like getting a pro contract, almost there.

This is clearly the future. No NCAA, no conferences.

NIL was the last great idea that I hated that came from California.
Pardon me, if I don’t get excited about the business ideas coming from the state that is 500 BILLION DOLLARS in debt.

It's a strange thought, but more Republicans live in the state of California than live in SC

Not too hard, only 7% of California population has to be Republicans to have more than SC. 39.25mil people vs 5.19mil population and if 50% are republican in SC, very small percentage in Cali population to have more.
Not sure you made any real point in that statement???

Certainly makes sense from a practical standpoint, but as always, the crux of the issue is $$$$$.
The conferences want control because each does NOT want to give up the money. Right now, each conference is vying for supremacy-or at least the right to still be one of the last ones standing.

That's true. The conferences like the SEC and B1G that are getting the most money don't want to give that up for something that makes more sense but spreads the money around more. It's the conferences that caused all of this mess.

So the B1G and SEC should share their money, to be fair to everyone else?

What they do not realize is that this battle for supremacy may result is a product that no one watches.
Many CFB fans loved the sport for traditions etc. These moves may end up lowering viewership as a whole.
You cannot eliminate all of these other school’s essentially and expect that the fans will still watch.
Case in point, if Clemson got left out of the mix I would be absolutely done watching college athletics and vote with my viewership dollar. Thus, there is allot of fan bases being cut out which add up to allot of eyes on TVs.
I am not so sure that CFB is not going to destroy itself and it may need intervention is some sort.
Now there are teams that should not be competing at this level of football. Problem is some of them are in the SEC and the BIG already. Looking at you Vandy and Rutgers for just 2 easy examples.

Sorry, but there is a difference between organizing 32 team - and 130 teams.
Not to mention that the NFL controls the draft - and the parity scheduling of their league. How would that work in a college league ??

It also doesn't solve the issues of transfer portal (tampering) or NIL (pay for play).
