DC Checklist

Good afternoon,
I’ve been doing a lot of reading and thinking about characteristics of a Great DC.

1. Emphasizes proper technique at ALL levels of the defense
2. Defensive scheme is sound regardless of the call
3. Great communication with players and coaches
4. Great recruiter
5. Strong emotional leadership on and off the field
6. Development of players is stressed
7. Develops relationships with players and coaches

Just a few. I’m sure y’all might want to add more.

Ben Bouleware ...

Ben should IMMEDIATLY be elevated to DC ASSISTANT !

His job will be to do much of what you beseech ... specifically how to tackle and whatnot, recruiting, team building and all that

Now, the current DC ... his job is STRATEGERY ... he job is WHAT to do but I feel he lacks in the implementation ... ie wrap and pull, tackle low and so on ... in Summary, Strategic vs tactical ...

Do this, and be glad

No, it would be considered as a man who earned his time on the field and in the trenches of Clemson football. Ben Boulware bleeds orange and white. His heart pumps Tiger Rag, and he understands what it takes to be a great linebacker because he himself was a great linebacker.

Not sure what kind of coach he’d make but dang I miss that passion and fire on the field. Loved the highlight reel

Use the scheme that is best for the talent you have. Our defensive speed seem
Slower than usual.

Those are all great qualities. I don't follow the ins and outs of CFB like I used to, so I would just add they need to look angry or mean. You know that look like Bill Cowher popping his jaw out or Venables when he was pissed. IF we are getting a new DC, Dabo will make the right move.
