Can we rally the fans around this somehow? Sure would be nice to get an announcement this year with everything else that is going on.

Awesome, thanks for the link. I contacted them immediately after Venable's remarks and also read that they require 5 locations when entering a new market. I'm thinking Anderson, Clemson, Easley, Greenville and Spartanburg perhaps? This is awesome news.

Clearly never had Whataburger. In N Out is street trash compared to it.

There's some confusion about What-a-burger. There's one in West Columbia - been there for years.

Been there a lot when I lived there. That's actually a What-A- burger. It's a different chain out of Virginia. I heard it's the reason we don't have a Whataburger in South Carolina...some agreement the two chains have with each other.

Correct. The one in West Cola is not the same as the Texas chain.

Come up to Charlotte outside the city we've got What a burger top their burgers they make cherry lemon sun drop with actual lemon and cherry soda 100% better than the remade stuff (Premade is still good tough)

I've been going to the one in West Columbia since I was about 4 years old. Our peewee baseball team would pile in the back of a pickup truck and eat there after we won our games. Of course that was back in 1970 or so.

We should support a local restaurateur instead of some giant national chain.
That ain't Clemson.

I believe Dabo has been eating there a bit too often. They do have very good Cajun cuisine.

Hey man trot over to I-95 in Florence SC just opened Buc-Es there. They have enough gas pumps to service half of the Pee Dee region!!! Always crowded, cleanest restrooms I've ever used. They have btw 120 to 130 gas pumps ( diesel also ) but what surprised me they sold non-ethanol with 6 pumps available. Read in business mag Buc-Es next location to be built near Dollywood Pigeon Forge TN.

went there once and don't plan to again. Had to wait in line to park. Went inside and it was like a zoo.
I was hoping it was going to be like a truck stop so I could browse the same CB radios as I had in 1980. They had no CB radios, but had furniture.

The Buc-ees in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area opened this summer. It’s the biggest one outside of Texas. I know people that travel to those #### gas stations like it’s Disney World.

There was a Whataburger there and we tried it. It was really good.

It gets the hype, because it's worth the hype. I guess you're always going to have "that guy" though.

How is it worth the hype?

[ in reply to Re: I Have no idea why Whataburger gets hype ] |

It’s just a fast food burger like a Wendy’s or Burger King. It’s not even like a higher standard of fast food burger like shake shack or five guys.
It’s similar to Culver’s except Culver’s is better

Greenville had a local mom/pop burger place on Augusta Road 70 yrs. ago named WHATABURGER. It was before McDonalds came out. Best hamburger in Greenville. Don't know how long it stayed in business after MCD came along.

I really like WAB when I'm in Texas and Arizona, but I bet if I had it daily, I'd grow tired of it.
My first impression of In-and-Out was that it was just okay, but trying it a second time and eating animal style really changed my viewpoint. The first time I went, I just asked for a ketchup-mustard-pickle-cheese and OF COURSE it tasted like everything else I'd had.
The what-a-burger that started in Virginia is truly like a mom & pop place, at least the one here in Newport News anyway. It really should not be the reason Whataburger doesn't come here.

So far Whataburger is coming to Anderson, Greenville Woodruff Rd (in the old KFC) and Laurens Rd (across from Chickfila) and several locations in Spartanburg.
