Islay Scotch is the best.

My current favorite is Kilchoman Distillery.

tequila. A good one, will cost you. There are excellent tequilas as well. But it's all so expensive to get a really good one with scotch or 2 killya. Hence my preference for bourbon. Even wines are good if you know the right ones to get.

You can buy $15-$20 bottles of wine that are as good or better than a $150 bottle. Same with bourbon. You can get a $30 bourbon that's as good or better than many $100 bottles. Tequila and scotch, NOPE.

Whatever they do to make tequila and scotch good, you can keep making them good consistently and then the name gets expensive. Wine is hit or miss even among good brands. Drought one year. A bad grape crop and it's not good one year but then you hit a very good year. This prevents the name from gaining value too much.

Take Macallan. Whatever they do, all they have to do is age it longer and the price climbs. I think a bottle of Macallan-72 sells around $160k.

I put scotch on the same level as liver. Of the thousands of taste buds on my tongue not one of them care for scotch or liver
