First, just let me say I am a big fan of Cam & the way he plays with such intensity, but he is struggling at the plate worse than at anytime at Clemson. I have no idea what’s different now. Don’t know if it’s the effects of recovery from his off season surgery or if he is just feeling the pressure of being in his draft year & being rated so highly. Can’t remember the last time he has had a clutch hit & he is striking out at an alarming rate. Not tying to criticize him, I am just can’t figure out what’s up. I hate to say it but he is playing his way out of the first round draft. And that is a shame.

He’s definitely talented enough to grind his way out of it but I think carrying a huge target on his back didn’t help. I’m sure he was studied a lot more this off-season than the first 2.

Also, with baseball being baseball I fully expect him to come on like a gangbusters to end the season.

Definitely one of the most puzzling funks I've seen from any of our players in Clemson Baseball history. I'm sure there's tons of variables to it but there's some times I can tell he's pressing at the plate to make a play which I can understand why he is. Thankfully there's still plenty of season for him to get it going. Hopefully it'll be in the post season where he gets it going because we will definitely need him then.

He seems weak and all out of sync mentally as opposed to his freshman year. No question about it. Seems to be taking a lot of strikes and swinging at balls and kinda out of it mentally right now. Anyone who has ever played baseball at a high level goes through these times for some unknown reason. Cam will either snap out of it and be a very high day-one draft pick, or he won't and might not get drafted at all. He is on the bubble right now as scouts are a bit worried about his attitude and "hot dogging" at the plate. Can you imagine what happens to him at the next level if he does the "Squat and Stare" routine at a MLB pitcher? It'll get ugly in a hurry! If he can't take the heat here, just imagine what it would be like at the next level. If he snaps out of it and regains his joy and goes on a hitting streak, cuts down on the antics, MLB will beat down his door getting to him. The talent is there. No question!
