NIT Run or NCAA Tourney
Feb 2, 2014, 1:03 PM

Not getting ahead of myself, but which would your prefer?
A NCAA bid and a most likely first round knock out.
Or a deep run into the NIT?
Personally, I feel this team would be better suited for an NIT run, obviously the goal is to get into the Big Dance but I think this team is a step behind the team with Stitt and Grant.
Unless we got a real favorable match up, I feel it'd be a first round exit most likely.
I feel a run into the NIT would do more for this young team's confiedence and set the foundation for next year. Especially if KJ comes back.

Dance while you can...

And what on earth makes you think if we get to the dance that we'd get bounced early?
Defense is the key. Anyone remember when we were a 5 seed and Villanova was a 12? Or when UCS was a 2 and Coppin State a 15?
All we need to do is get the invite. Let destiny take care of the rest.

Good point Rev. And didn't the coots lose to Richmond as like a 4? Gotta watch out for the Spider's......
I'm really hoping for a tournament bid. We certainly have some work to do but the win yesterday is very uplifting towards our case. The NIT does provide a couple of benefits but I'm not saying I want that. One benefit is the potential for home game (s). I know we're a FB school but I do enjoy the home BB games. Then again, I love our soccer and vb games. And eespecially the rugby games. If you've never caught a rugby game @ Clemson you should check it out. It's a club sport but it's still awesome.

I'm a very optimistic basketball fan, I'm just sure if we get in, we will be a pretty high seed meaning our opponent would not be easy.

Any postseason play would be good...

Think I speak for most of us in that we'd like to make the NCAAs, however I also see the point of getting a few postseason games via the NIT to give the team experience.
I think any postseason experience will help this team out (either getting a taste of the Big Dance or a few games in the NIT) in setting up for bigger and better things next year.

you obviously want the NCAA, but...

this team DOES need to make some sort of post season play. I see at least ,least 4 more loses in the reg season.
Syracuse, VA, PITT and Nc State.

State? At Littlejohn?

I respectfully disagree. NC State looks to be the kind of team that gets frustrated by stout defense....and is far less impressive on the road.

I think we should support and don confidence that we believe we are worthy of being there. If we've got a shot, go for it!
