Can you even name the Hamas leaders that are supposedly hiding there? How many Hamas fighters were there among the 20k casualties? Is there any goal in mind? Is there any end in sight other than zero Palestinians left in Gaza? My guess is they're creating more fighters than they're killing.

Hamas without killing innocent civillians is a fantasy. It's WAR, because Israel was attacked, and their attackers are imbedded amongst and shielding themselves with innocent citizens. Israel does not target those civillians, but it is inevitable that civillians will die. It's horrible, but unavoidable if Israel is allowed to defend and protect itself.

Innocent people are ALWAYS killed in wars, as it's almost impossible to fight one without it. Not that that makes it okay or any easier to accept, but it is just a reality. That's why it's best not to start one in the first place.

It's not a "whoopsie" at all. As I have stated repeatedly, it's horrific. I will add that I believe Israel should do everything they can to avoid harming innocent civillians (and maybe they should do more), but only to the extent it does not prevent them from effectively and proficiently conducting the war in defense of their own country.

this afternoon. And I know Israel/Netenyahu has vowed to wipe Hamas off of the map, which is completely understandable, but I have not heard anyone speaking on behalf of Israel vow to wipe Gaza off the map, and that is a very important difference.
Hamas, on the other hand, is a terrorist organization, whose official, stated objective, is the obliteration of Israel and establishment of a muslim state in it's place.

What if this whole mess was a ruse to get Israel to use up its weapons stockpiles, etc. This way after they reduce Gaza to rubble, then Iran, Syria, etc. can just march right into Israel and start a much larger war that Israel will then lack the munitions to fight because they spent them all destroying Gaza?
Sounds stupid, but so does strapping bombs to kids. So in that world, it wouldn't be stupid at all but strategic. Sacrifice Gaza and the Palestinians to have a much better shot of taking all of Israel.
