Rick Barnes team that had Buckner, McEntire, Wideman, Jamison, Jurkunas, Iturbe, Code, etc. I am missing a few here. But we have so many guys that can contribute and be the hot guy at any given time. I expect a sweet 16 run or more with this group. But we shall see.

Tremendous blend of youth and experience, inside/outside, offense/defense, multiple guys who can score and rebound, good depth, etc.

We don't have the bruisers inside, but we have better shooting and more overall basketball talent.

I hope these guys prove to be even better. That team was one shot away from making the elite 8 and I think they had the ability to go even further. I forgot to mention Harder and another guy we had on that team. Tony was his first name I believe really tall skinny guy that was extremely athletic. He made one of the shots against Minnesota that took it to overtime or double overtime. Some of the guys on that team like Jurkunas did end up regressing some. He could shoot 3's like crazy but ended up not being nearly as effective as an upper classman. I remember we had a big win against Kentucky to start one of those seasons.

I'd guess this team has more overall basketball talent, but only 1 definite NBA prospect on each team.

The Buckner team had basketball IQ and a will to win we haven't seen from this team yet.

Hopefully they'll get there this year.

I would probably take the pair of Buckner and McEntyre at this point over any pair on this team. Boogie was a helluva college PG. Just didn't have quite the size amongst other things to be an NBA prospect.
