Pulling out all the stops : What does RG's visit look like?
Jan 28, 2016, 1:19 PM
|
|
I don't know how I feel about mildly suggestive sweaty locker room scenes with Clemson's all time greats...
But I do know that our guys know how to get kids to commit. Does anyone have any insight on the details?
What does an "official visit" look like agenda wise? What kid of "ace in the hole" tricks are pulled (i.e. Huggins meeting the Prez)? What are the limitations of what the school can pay for, and how far do they go (first-class flights, expensive meals, apparel)?
TIA and TU to any that knows.

But I do believe that you can get in trouble for buying the recruits hookers. Any Louisville fans around to clarify?

Prepare a carried throne for him like that guy on 300. Assign students to carry him around campus for the day, with a few others fanning him with palm leaves.
That was easy.

that's just in the summer months when it hot and the skeeters are out.
During the cooler times of the year. he is chauffeured-around in a pope mobile like contraption.

I know for a fact that they show recruits the party scene. Hunter Johnson was out and about earlier this semester (or maybe last year I forget). They stay with a player host and just get the feel for the daily life. Now if his mom is on his hip 24/7 it may be different.

Clements meets most of our higher profile recruits.
He's a huge asset when it comes to recruiting

There's a large duffle bag located behind Holtzendorf...

In it are thousands of $100 prepaid visa cards. Please do not move this bag.

He will meet with the staff at Vickery Hall, The President, DRad, and the coaching staff, he will have a current player who will host him while he is in town and that player is given money NCAA allowable to take him out on the town. Him and his family will be hosted at Coach Swinney's home for a family dinner on Sunday he will have a exit interview with Coach Swinney in his office. The main thing they do on an official visit is find out how the team will use him, what help will he get with his major, and how happy or the current players at Clemson. Clemson will need to sell him on playing strong side defensive end verses DT, because we have some much depth at DT.

We have depth at DT, sure, but Huggins could also move to end, as could Sterling Johnson.

Gary mentions Wilkins and Dexter Law as high level depth. Huggins can't play DE he doesn't have the speed and quickness that is why he moved to DT and the same for Johnson.

Here's what I'm thinking -

R. Gary walks into the Clemson locker room and spread around the room sitting at lockers with their heads down as if tired from a work out are former Clemson stars... Spiller, Watkins, Hopkins, Beasly, Boyd and maybe another D-lineman in the League. Each in turn looks up and speak to RG about how Clemson impacted them as men in all of life and prepared them for more than they ever imagined.

The school made $64 million on football last year. I say a lap dance from Katy Perry would be in order.
