Clemson wasn't going to win its lawsuit against the ACC. ...

The ACC wasn't going to let Clemson walk away with its money. ...

The Big Ten and the SEC weren't going to cut corners for Clemson to join (they don't want to expand right now anyway and have been saying that over and over). So ...

This ESPN/ACC deal is the best thing for Clemson right now and for the short-term future (decade or so?) ...

Until the "big" schools break away for football (and maybe all sports?) and have their own championship. Then, Clemson will be just fine as part of that big-money group.
