It's over ... and it's just begun.
The best thing about yesterday's signing class: it's both an end and a beginning.
First, it's over. It's over for the Capons, for their minions who were heralding a new world order for football in South Carolina. They envisioned some dystopian future where the Sons of Clemson looked up with loathing and fear as their feathered overlords, armed with a cudgel of conference affiliation prowled the state, seeking whom they may devour.
The faithful knew it was an aberration, a hiccup in the span of time. But the days dragged and evil flourished and the cries went up....How long?
Yesterday, the answer came.
It ends NOW.
This unpleasant stretch of history, this stumble along the long race of destiny has come to its inevitable conclusion.
What remains now is a beginning. A beginning of setting South Carolina, and the world, right again.
A beginning of the days our fathers dreamed for us when they promised, "Son, you ain't never going to bow before no d@mn chicken ... EVER."
A beginning of all that makes us stand with pride, face the mountains and sing.
Welcome to Clemson, young men. Welcome to your destiny.
Now, let's move the chicken coop out behind the barn and out of the front yard.

Agree - Let's beat them first. According to the "experts" we've had better recruiting classes the past couple of years. Edging them by a few spots in this year's class doesn't necessarily feel like a turning point, but let's hope it is...I'll be happy when Spurrier is out of there. Say what you want about him, he's a special coach that doesn't need elite recruiting classes to win on the field.
