Any electricians in the Lounge?

If so, have a question..
My range/stove would turn on, poweer up but would not heat up. The burners nor oven would get hot but the range would turn on. I thought it was the range so I bought a new one. Had the new range installed, with a new plug. Same thing., It turns on, lights up but the burners and oven don't get warm.
Going to hire an electrician i guess. However, has anyone had this happen to them?

I've never seen this.
Swap the breaker which powers the stove. It's easy to swap. Cut the main breaker, remove the breaker which serves the range, unscrew the wires and put them on the new beaker. Make dang sure the wires securely fastened to that breaker then snap it back in place.
If you're nervous pull the meter and the main breaker.

sounds like one of your hot legs is dead. Could be a wiring issue, a breaker issue, or a plug issue. Sounds like you changed something with a different plug, so likely something at the outlet or breaker.
Some of the functions of your unit run on 120V and some on 240V. 120V is one hot leg to the neutral and 240V is one hot leg to the other hot leg. So one hot leg being dead could explain your problem.
Household 240V breakers are normally 2 x 120V breakers tied together. Make sure one side of that breaker hasn't tripped and/or cycle that breaker off and back on.
If you have a multi-meter, check the voltage between the hot legs (should be about 240V) and from each hot leg to the neutral (should be about 120V).
If you detect an issue, turn off the breaker...check that there is no voltage on the outlet and remove the outlet cover and check to make sure there are no loose wires.
With all that said, since you're asking this question...probably better call an electrician.

One seldom sees a two separate breakers serving a dedicated circuit. I haven't seen one is 30 years and that was old wiring.

It's most likely a 2 pole breaker and not two 1 pole breakers tied together.***

My guess is either a bad leg on the wiring, or incorrect connection to the 50A receptacle.

than I ever have in my life. I've had two breakers randomly start trippin' in my last house, replaced them and the circuits were fine.
I'm not even going to start with GFCI breakers. There's about a 30% chance a new one will be bad.

I’ve heard of people buying induction cooktops and not having pans suitable for induction tops, then not understanding why it’s not getting hot.

Sounds like you have lost a leg of the 50A 2 pole breaker, and are only getting 120V to the range. So it's either a bad breaker, or bad #8awg wiring between the receptacle and the breaker.

your left as you are facing it from the rear, you'll have a heat overflow/reserve cannister. Just top it up with more heat and you are good to go.
What happens here is when that reservoir depletes the heat intended for your unit is redirected to that reservior instead of the stove top or whatevs.
You can get more heat from just about any hardware store. YWIA!

touch one side of the breaker at a time. If you get a good jolt from each side, you know it's not the breaker
120 isn't that bad but 240 will #### you up. So make sure it's only one side at a time
