Agree with the article. I will add that our offense scheme has never been good. Combinations of generational talent made it look good.

So Tajh Boyd and Kelly Bryant were once in a generation talents too then

The offense excelled with both of those guys leading the way. Tajh excelled behind an oline that wasn’t good at either run or pass blocking. Bryant excelled behind an oline that wasn’t good at run blocking

and was like 15-2 as a starter. So he was more of an over achiever than a recruiting bust.

Well, if y’all would do just a little research you would see DJ’s numbers through the first 8 games are almost exactly the same last year as this year….if not a little better last year. But hey…why look at stats…let’s just keep the false narrative going.

That’s too much work for some ppl lol iv watched them a few times to see what all the “dj is flourishing” “dj is looking so much better” talk is about and I’m sorry that’s just not the case if you watch them. He’s in his 4th year of college football and still struggles big time with accuracy and under throws and over throws open guys. And he’s in an offense that’s more pro style with a lot of play action bootleg and they use him running. His stats are not that great he’s in an offense that doesn’t ask much of him.

So which QB stat line is better…. Without names which is better?
YDS- 1,791 TD-17 INT-4 QBR-82.5 (8th) 6-2 record, completion 59.2%
Or
YDS-1,947 TD-13 INT-5 QBR-58.8 (73rd) 4-4 record, completion 63.9%
Im not advocating just posting stats….. real data…. Say all you want about different league, weak competition, etc etc…. Facts are facts,
I dont think DJ is right for CU, but give credit for the beavs coaching staff for doing what they can with what they have and putting their team and players n a position to win…
I watch every CU game, and this year watched every beaver game…. Those that watch will see a much more confident DJ, he is a different player, not the same……. Im not saying elite, etc, but much better where he is and much better confidence and decision making, IMO the game has slowed much for him this year…..

MUH STATS
There is no team sport where raw stats are less useful than football, except for soccer which isn't really a sport.
DJ was terrible no matter what the statistics say.

We still got ten wins a season out of him for the two seasons he started. He turned out to be average, good enough to get ten wins but not good enough to get to the playoffs

Yeah, Streeter was totally the problem if you hate doing better…than the year before and the year after. In fact Streeter’s only year was better than Napier, Morris and Elliott’s last years.

How have we not learned our lesson…. it’s never going to be about one position or one coach. If we had gone undefeated and went on to win the Natty this year… and the offensive line had played absolutely perfectly… I’m pretty sure we would it be holding up the trophy, saying thank God for the OL… they won this whole thing single-handedly!
So if we can’t give one position all of the credit when we are winning trophies, then we can’t blame one position or one coach when things aren’t going as we had hoped. It is too big of a program for one position, one player or one coach to be the only thing causing losses.

I am active in STS and actually use this for the in game thread as it flows much nicer that Tnet.
The article is off on the statement that DJ is some kid of rock star. He is not. What he does have is better coaching and a supporting cast.
The oline is not a dumpster fire.
