Listening to Coots about HC candidates

You would think that their final list has been trimmed down to Urban Meyer, Don Shula, Dan Reeves, Nick Saban, Barry Switzer and Tom Osborne.
Some things never change...

Best thing I saw in their game yesterday was a top 3 coaches for them: 1) Elliot 2) Jim Tressel because his show cause letter expires this year 3) Hermann from Houston
I really think #2 will be the best fit for them

Apparently Herman has some ties to people in the AD office at Mizzou. Since that job is open now.. who knows. Crazy year for HC jobs.

Would not have to be a coordinator that they are hiring? How much president is there for a coach to leave his team when he still has games to play in the current season, and in particular one who's team is undefeated?

They wanted Fuente but now since they don't think they could

Get Fuente they're absolutely sure they're getting Herman and he's bringing in a "huge name" defensive coordinator. They also still believe they're the best coaching job in the country so I wouldn't take what they say to seriously. Tbh I don't see why people are all over Herman but whatever float their boat. It's gonna take a lot more than new coaches to fix what they've got going on down there.

With the kind of year we are having, I expect them to pull out all stops on this hire. The pressure on Tanner is huge. They will definitely break open the piggy bank and pass around the hat.

Hopefully they will break the bank on a big name and have nothing left for the assistants.

I look forward to the butt hurt coot comments in response to Herbstreit comments on head coach openings. When asked about the best jobs after USC Sr. He was given SCjr, Miami and VaTech as the next options. His response was that "because of lacking facilities at Miami, VT is the best and then Miami." He did not even mention the coots in his response.

I actually saw on a TV network message board a few weeks ago where a fellow SEC fan asked if they would look at Dabo. That was some funny sheet right there, thinking that the USCjr jobs was a better one than Clemson simply because they are in the SEC. That's major league Jim Jones kind of brainwashing.

They think they are too good to go after an Assistant other than maybe K. Smart, but if Dabo walked out tomorrow, and BV didn't want the job, I would go after Lincoln Riley guns a-Blazing. Living here in E. NC I see a lot of ECU play, and his Offense was on point, now with real tools at Oklahoma, I expect big things and he will be a HC soon. But Coots think they rate to have a Top Name guy because well, they are SC and in the SEC. That's coots for ya.

Saban and Meyer. I hope they land one of those other guys. I recommend Shula.

What they do not seem to understand is this; just because you wish for certain coaches does not make it happen. The coach has to want to go there.
