Helment stickers

Did this end with the Danny Ford era? I wonder why helment stickers aren't awarded anymore? Is this an NCAA imposed rule now? As a young boy, I always thought this was pretty neat.

Clemson gives "Paw" helmet stickers now. Look closely, you'll see 'em.

Back in the Ford era, they were black, a little bit larger, and seems as though the players put them on themselves. Many if not most put them all over the helmet, not just on the back. I agree, it looked cool. Now, seems as though the equipment staff applies the stickers, which get awarded by the coaches to the players in the week before the game. But they are applied only on the back of the helmet, in very linear fashion. Not as noticeable, looks a little more neat, but to me, not the same impact, visually. And seems to me the accomplishments they acknowledge mean less if the equipment guy, and not the player who earned it, is applying the sticker. But that's just me, don't know how the whole thing plays out behind closed doors.

Another Carolina fan trying to make Clemson grads look dumb. It's Helmet, not Helment.
