Question about "the brawl" in 2004.

What is your personal opinion of it? I see it being glorified each year around this time and I thought that it was an embarrassment for the Tigers. We are Clemson. We're better than that.

Made both schools look bad.
Of course, I'm a lover, not a fighter, so I can't see the point in such silliness...

I was a student at the game and I, personally, was not embarrassed in the least. When you look at everything that transpired throughout the game leading up to the brawl, South Carolina was trying their hardest to intimidate and play the aggressor. You don't let anyone come in your "house" and do that; but when someone does, you send a message. Emotions finally boiled over at the end of the game.

More so for South Carolina since they're the ones that instigated and then lost the fight, but it's an embarrassing stain to both universities.
And the kicker is how proud many Clemson fans feel over this picture:

It's embarrassing.

It is if you are the guy getting your head kicked in. Take a look at how it got to that point. It was justified kicking the #### out of that coot in my opinion. Too many PC people in this world. You start something, you better be ready to finish it or accept the consequences.

It all started when the dirtpeckers tried to block the Tigers from running down the hill. After that all you need to know is that LOSERS START FIGHTS. Because of the media's love for loser lou, we were made out to be the villain, when in fact loser lou had lost control of his team.

They got what they deserved
Nov 19, 2012, 2:59 PM
|
|
They started the whole thing by waiting at the bottom of The Hill and trying to fight us as we were coming on the field. They were frustrated that they were getting the brains beat in all day long and a bunch of their thug backup players wanted to get on the field and that was how they did it.
They lost the fight and the game.
Yusef Kelly will always be fondly remembered for standing on the Clemson sideline holding up the helmet of a gamecock player like some bloody battle trophy and then heaving it into the stands.
#### 'em, that's what I say.

Hahaha, I was in the student section when Kelly threw the helmet in the stands and the place absolutely erupted. One of my favorite game experiences of all-time.

It should be one of those things that we pack away as "do not discuss." The fact that people bring it up in a celebratory manner or as something funny or cool shows a lack of maturity.

Is that yes 63-17 was bad, but 2004 was much worse for the chickens as far as being dominated. I think they crossed the 50 a grand total of 2 times that day.
I guess being so jacked up trying to block us from running down the hill, thinking you were gonna do something with ya bad selves, then absolutely getting your skulls kicked in for another 60 mins just didn't sit to well with you coots. Cry me a river..

Nothing good ever comes from a brawl.
That being said they took things way too far, as many have discussed.
And when I was younger my father told me not to throw the first punch, but when someone swings at me to knock their @$$ out. I guess that's just a southern way of doing things.

I am all about the trash talking and bragging rights. Even scuffles between the teams during the game are acceptable. But the sc players were chippy because they couldn't stop us and this one took a turn for the worse when players started using helmets as weapons and kicking / stomping players heads. Personally, that was a black eye on both programs, however I don't think both should have turned down a bowl.

Cerialously they should have never let the two teams in contact with one another. Wasn't the chickens running out on the field when we came down the hill? Their fought!

the #####, but on the field, not in a street fight. It was an embarassment. With that being said, I am all for defending your teammate. But that still needs to stay on the field, not emptying the sidelines.
